St. Margaret’s Parish is having a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, August 6 th starting at 8am until 1pm.
A BBQ, a 50/50 draw along with a bake table will be available. If you have items you would like to donate,
please drop them off at the Parish Hall on Wednesday, August 3 rd from 6:00-8:00pm. All donations are
greatly appreciated. The proceeds will go towards church expenses. Everyone welcome!

Renovation Collection will be taken up at all Masses next weekend.
First Friday devotions will be celebrated at 7pm at St. Michael’s. Mass will be celebrated at 7pm followed by a period of
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. During the Adoration, confessions will be heard and at approximately 8:20pm Vespers will be
sung concluding with Benediction.

in the Bishop Rogers Chapel.

Responsible Ministry The Diocese of Saint John Responsible Ministry
protocol to protect children, youth and vulnerable adults outlines that
a Police Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Search
must be renewed every five years. It is once again time for all staff/
volunteers at St. Michael’s to renew their PCRC. This includes anyone
handling money or who has keys. Forms and a letter from Fr. John (to
waive the fee) will be available in the office to take to the police or
RCMP station. We are asking that all volunteers have a renewed PCRC
by September 6, 2016. If you have any questions, please contact
Patricia (778-5150).
Jubilee year of mercy prayer packages are
available at the main entrance of the church.
Please use the outline and pamphlets for your
spiritual journey experience for God’s Mercy.
Remember to pass through the Blessed center
entrance doors as many times as possible during
our jubilee year of mercy.

While the St. Michael’s Choir takes a well deserved summer
break, we welcome Kate Estabrooks as our soloist for the
summer season. We would also like to send a special thank you
to Mr. Bunnell for being our Church accompanist.
Irish Festival Breakfast Follow Up Meeting will be held on
August 8th at 6:30pm in the Parish Centre.

Middle Island’s restaurant, The Captain’s Galley, is now open
for the season. Breakfast will be served every Sunday, from
10am-1pm.
St. Andrew’s Parish will be having Divine Mercy Sunday on
July 31st starting at 2:45pm. All are welcome to attend!
Ecumenical Prayer Walk will be held on Saturday, October
15th at 1pm. Needed are two or three St. Michael’s parishioners
to help plan/organize this walk. The next organizational meeting
will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Tuesday, Sept 6 at
6:30pm. If you are interested, please let Fr. John know ASAP.
St. Bridget’s Church, Renous, will be celebrating their 100th
Anniversary Sunday, August 21st with Mass at 3pm. They will be
having activities all weekend long, times to be announced.
The Miramichi Chapter of the Irish Canadian Cultural
Association is receiving applications for their annual scholarship grant. Interested students are invited to call Carol Hilchey
at 778-8706. The closing date for applications is August 31.
The Catholic Health Association of New Brunswick is
offering two (2) Scholarships in the amount of $ 1000.00 each,
they will be awarded to one (1) student studying in a French
educational institution and one (1) student studying in an
English educational institution. Students must be entering their
second year of studies or later, in a post-secondary program in
the field of health care. Information and application forms are

778-5302. Applications must be post marked by August 31st.
