In Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent
when they told him how Eve was created out of Adam’s ribs. Later in the week, his mother noticed him lying down as though he
were ill and said: “Johnny, what is the matter?” Little Johnny responded: “I have a pain in my side. I think I’m going to have a wife.”

Responsible Ministry The date to have your renewed Police Criminal
Record Check of September 6, 2016 is fast approaching. Forms and a
letter from Fr. John (to waive the fee) are available in the office to
take to the police or RCMP station. Thank you to the volunteers who
have already completed your PCRC. Remember this also includes anyone handling money or has a key to the church. The Diocese of Saint
John Responsible Ministry protocol is in place to protect children,
youth and vulnerable adults and must be renewed every five years. If
you have any questions, please contact Patricia (778-5150).
Jubilee year of mercy prayer packages are
available at the main entrance of the church.
Please use the outline and pamphlets for your
spiritual journey experience for God’s Mercy.
Remember to pass through the Blessed center
entrance doors as many times as possible during
our jubilee year of mercy.
Lost and found items are located in the church office. We have sunglasses, umbrellas, toys, books, etc. that have been left behind. If you

CWL— The winner of the CWL bursary was Naomi McGowan,
daughter of Robert and Stella McGowan. She will be attending
St. Thomas University in the fall. The next CWL meeting will be
Thursday, September 8th at 7pm. Please bring an item for the
fall and Christmas basket.

Middle Island’s restaurant, The Captain’s Galley, is having their
last breakfast on Sunday, August 21st. The restaurant will be
closing for the season on August 25th.
St. Bridget’s Church, Renous, Msgr. Woods and Parishioners invite you to come help us celebrate our Special Sunday Liturgy of our 100th Anniversary of St. Bridget’s Church at 3pm on
August 21st. A Pot Luck Supper will follow in the basement.
St. Andrew’s Parish in Loggieville will be hosting a Family
Church Picnic on the front lawn of the church on Sunday, August
28th starting at 11am. There will be games, music and a BBQ. All
are welcome! Free will offering.
St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Red Bank, is hosting a turkey
supper with all the trimmings on Sunday, August 28 from 2:305:30pm. Adults: $12, children (12 & under): $6.00, all take outs:
$12.50. Musical entertainment by Jimmy Lawlor and Friends. All
are welcome.
The Miramichi Chapter of the Irish Canadian Cultural
Association is receiving applications for their annual scholarship grant. Interested students are invited to call Carol Hilchey at
778-8706. The closing date for applications is August 31.
The Catholic Health Association of New Brunswick is
offering two (2) Scholarships in the amount of $ 1000.00 each,
they will be awarded to one (1) student studying in a French
educational institution and one (1) student studying in an
English educational institution. Students must be entering their
second year of studies or later, in a post-secondary program in
the field of health care. Information and application forms are
