Your Web24 Control Panel
How To Access Your Web24 Control Panel
You can access your Control Panel from any Web Browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari or
Firefox.
To log in, please type the following URL into your web browser address bar:
http://admin.web24.com.au
Password Security
The first thing we recommend you do once you have logged into your control panel is to reset your password:
1. Once you have logged in, click on the “Account” tab at the top of the page.
2. Under the section “Account Management” click on “Personal Profile”.
3. Click on the “Edit” button.

4. Enter the new password in the boxes “New password” and “Retype Password” and click on “Update”.
NOTE: Password length should be between 12 and 16 characters. Passwords should contain both lower case
and upper case letters. We recommend using a combination of letters, numbers and non-standard characters.
If you need help, please use a 3rd party tool such as https://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ to generate a
random password for you.

Forgot Your Password?
If you have forgotten your password, this can be reset easily by following the steps below:
1. Visit the following link: https://hspc.web24.net.au/cp/login.cgi/act,remind?
2. Enter the email address you used to sign-up with Web24.
3. You will receive a link with an authorization code in your mailbox (don’t forget to check your
SMAP/Junk Mail Folder). Please copy this link into your browser. It will direct you to a page that will
prompt you to enter the new password. Please enter the new password in the “New password” and
“Retype the new password” boxes and click on “Update”.
4. Your password is now reset. You will be re-directed to the blank login page. Now re-enter your new
credentials. Please use the new password to login.

Control Panel Overview
Our control panel provides you with a web based interface to manage all aspects of your hosting. This control
panel is comprised of three distinctive sections:




Account
Help and Support
Home
The Home Section is divided into “Store” and “Account”.

Store
The store section allows you to purchase more services such as Domain Registrations, SSL certificates,
Additional Resources, Managed Services and change existing hosting plans.

Account
This section allows you to view billing history, subscriptions, and payment methods.
Account
The “Account” tab provides you with access to manage your account information in four sections. They are:

Store
The store section has options to buy new Domains Names, SSL certificates other services.

Billing Management
The billing management section provides your account balance and payment settings. It also allows you
to view payment history and to download invoices.

Account Management
The account management tools allow you to manage and change your account contact information and
customise your notification settings.

Subscriptions
The subscriptions section allows you to review all subscription details such as the name of subscription,
subscription status, hosting plan and the billing cycle end date. The “All My Domains” section shows
registered domains and their DNS settings. The “All My SSL Certificates” section shows all Web24
ordered SSL certificates including their private keys and certificate content. If you select the shared
hosting plan in this section it will help you review resource allocation and usage under the
“Configuration” tab.

Help and Support
All Web24 services come with support at no additional cost. To access support, you can either call in
or open a support ticket. Details on this process are available here:

There is also an option available in your control panel called “Trouble Tickets” available in the Help
and Support section. This will allow you to create a support tickets and view any previous tickets.
Managing Your Web Hosting Subscription
In order to access web hosting from your control panel, the following steps need to be performed:
At the top right-hand side of your panel, you will see a drop-down box next to “Subscription”. Select your
web hosting subscription from the drop-down list.

Management options for your hosting plan will become available once you have selected your subscription
from the drop down menu.





Websites & Domains: This is the most used section of your hosting control panel. All website related
operations such as viewing website files, changing DNS settings, adding SSL certificates, changing PHP
settings etc, can be done using this tab.
Statistics: This section will provide useful details of disk space and traffic used.Applications: Popular
applications such as Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal can be installed using this tab.
Files: This will facilitate file operations such as Uploading, removing, copying files and viewing file
contents.
Note: If you would like to perform large operations such as uploading all website files, please use an
FTP client to do so.
Mail: This will allow you to perform email related operations such as creating email addresses, changing
mail settings, mailing lists and outgoing mail control.
Before Creating/Uploading Your Site
1. Before your website goes live, you will need to have a domain registration. Web24 provides free DNS
hosting for all domains registered with Web24. New domain registrations and transfers of existing
domains can be requested from the following link below:

2. If you are moving an existing website, do ensure you have all the relevant website files. You should be
able to obtain a copy of the files from your developer or previous hosting provider. We also
recommend uploading all website contents first before changing DNS records.
Quick Start Guide – Create Your Site In 5 Steps
To help you on your way, we have provided the following quick start guide for one of the most popular CMS
(Content Management System) platforms, WordPress.

Login to the Web24 Control Panel.

Click on “Install” in the “WordPress” section.
5. Specify the location for the installation and click on “Install”. NOTE: If you would like to have
WordPress installed in the root directory, so you can access it like this: www.mydomain.com (rather
than www.mydomain.com/wordpress) you will need to leave the directory field empty.

Congratulations, your website is now setup!
How To Upload An Existing Website
If you already have an existing website, the website files will need to be uploaded to your Web24 web hosting
service. This can be achieved by File Transfer Protocol (FTP) software. FTP is a standard network protocol used
to transfer computer files from one host to another host over a network. FileZilla is one such FTP program
used to upload your website files. The following links will assist in setting up FileZilla on your machine and
using it to upload files.

3. Once FileZilla is installed on your machine, you can connect to your server by using ftp credentials
provided in the Web24 Web Hosting - Welcome Account Information email from Web24.
DNS Records
Prior to adding or modifying DNS records, you will need to ensure that the domain Name Server is pointing to
Web24. This can be checked by entering your domain name in the tool below:

Note: If your domain does not have the above DNS servers set, you will need to contact your name server
provider in order to change the DNS records.
Note: Common DNS records such as the A record and MX records are automatically created with your web
hosting subscription. Please check if these records are present prior to adding additional records.
Caution: Please note that DNS changes are not instant. Any change to records can take up to 24 hours to be
propagated. These changes can therefore result in downtime for your sites, email and other services.
Adding DNS Records
If you require additional records, sometimes needed if you are using external mail providers or other third
party services, you can create them using the following process:

Click on the “Add Record” option to add a new DNS record. Note: Some records have already been
created.

7. To point your website to an IP address you will need to add or modify an “A record”.

Click on the DNS record you would like to modify and edit the records accordingly.

Email Management
One of the first steps in setting up your hosting account is to create your email address. This is achieved
quickly and easily through the use of your Control Panel.
How To Create An Email Address

Login to your control panel and select the web hosting subscription.
Click on the “Mail” tab at the top.
Click on “Create Email Address”.
Enter the email address, password and confirm password.
Your email account is now created, and you are presented with additional configuration options. You can
leave the default settings as is, or customise them further to suite your purposes. I.e.: Add aliases, enable
spam filtering, setup auto-reply emails and so on.

Spam-Filtering
We highly recommend that you consider customising your spam filtering. This can be done using the following
steps:

Login to your Web24 control panel and select the web hosting subscription.
Click on the “Mail” tab at the top.
Select the email address.
Click on the “Spam Filter” tab.
Tick the box “Switch on spam filtering for this email address”.
6. You have an option of marking spam messages with adding the text message to an incoming mail:
***SPAM***
Note: This will need to be complemented with a rule in your mail client to filter these messages and
deliver them to the junk folder.
7. You can delete all spam messages that are detected by the spam filter.
Note: By ticking this option it is also possible some legitimate messages get deleted as well.
8. Click on “Show Advanced Settings” which will open up more options for you.

9. You can change the spam filter sensitivity as per requirements. A low value will apply a more stringent
spam filter.
Note: For a new email account we recommend leaving the default value to 7. If you notice you are
getting lots of spam emails, you can change this to a lower value.
10. The “White List” box can be used to flag certain email addresses so that mail from these addresses are
never blocked by spam filtering.
11. The “Black List” box can be used to add email addresses of senders that you wish to block entirely.
12. Click on “OK” to save the settings.
Additional Settings For Email




General
o Allows you to modify the email account name, password and maximum mailbox size.
Forwarding:
o This option will forward emails to another address of your choice.
o Note: Copies of email messages will be retained if the mailbox is enabled (You can confirm
this in the ‘General’ section).
Email alias
o Allows you to setup additional aliases for a single email account. This is useful if you want to
have multiple addresses, such as [email protected] and [email protected] but only
want to manage a single email address i.e. [email protected]
Auto-Reply
o Setup automatic response messages for out of office or vacation.
How to Access Your Email
You can use a web browser such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or a mail client such as
Outlook, MacMail to access your email.

Resource Usage
Your subscription will have a set amount of resource you can consume. This will vary based on the
subscription type. You can upgrade your subscription at any time on the ‘Account’ tab.
You can view your resource usage by doing the following:
1. Login to your control panel and select you web hosting subscription.
2. In the tab “Websites and Domains” you will notice the section “Resource Usage” at the right-hand
side. This will also provide you information on the resource limits assigned to your subscription.

3. An immediate glance will provide you with “Disk Space” and “Traffic” bandwidth usage.
4. Click on “View More Statistics” (just below Resource Usage). This will provide a graphical
representation of the components that use disk space and traffic in your hosting. Below is an example

5. If you would like to view a historical breakdown of traffic usage, please click on the option “Data
Transfer Statistic” link.
6. The “Web Statistics” link will display information such as Daily Traffic Usage, Number of Hits per hour,
day, Top 30 URLs accessed, Top 5 Countries accessing the site.
Purchasing Resources
You can purchase more resources by following the steps below:
1. Login to your control panel.
2. Select the Web Hosting Subscription.
3. Click on the “Account” tab at the top.
4. Click on “Buy Resources”.

5. You can choose the type of resource to purchase and entering a new value in the “New Limit” box.
6. The next screen will show details of charges associated with obtaining the resource. You can tick the
box for “I accept all the terms of the User Agreement” after reviewing the “User Agreement” in the
link.

8. You can choose to pay via Credit Card, Paypal or Offline Payment.

Card Payment: You can choose to pay via Credit/Debit card and enter the Card Name, Card
Number, Expiration Date and CVV code. Click on “Continue”.

Paypal Payment: Scroll down to the PayPal section and click on “Continue”.
You will be directed to Paypal site. Click on “Pay with my PayPal Account” and login to your
Paypal account. You will be provided further instructions to process this payment.

Offline Payment: You can use this option if you would like to pay via Cheque, Bank Deposit or
Internet Banking.
Your order will be processed once we receive notifications related to your order being placed.
Working With Mysql Databases:
Adding A New Database:
1. Login to your control panel and select the relevant web hosting subscription.
2. Click on “Websites & Domains”.
3. Click on “Databases” at the right side.
4. Click “Add New Database”.
5. Enter a name for the database.

6. Select the database type that you are going to use: MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server. Click OK.
7. To set up database administrator's credentials, click Add New Database User.
8. Provide both the database user name and password that will be used for accessing the contents of the
database.
9. Click OK.
How To Upload Your Existing Database:
Please ensure you have a copy of the MySQL database in the .sql or .zip format prior to proceeding with these
steps:

Login to your control panel and select the relevant web hosting subscription.
Click on “Websites & Domains”.
Click on “Databases” at the right side.
Click “Add New Database”.
Enter a name for the database.
Select the database type that you are going to use: MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server. Click OK.
To set up database administrator's credentials, click Add New Database User.
Type a user name and a password that will be used for accessing the contents of the database.
Click OK.
Click WebAdmin in the Tools group. An interface to phpMyAdmin database management tool will
open in a separate browser window.

12. Click on “Choose File” and select the location of your mysql database file.
13. Click on “Go”.
Reseller Panel
Adding A New Customer
As a reseller it is possible you have more than one client and you may need to cater to different customer
requirements. Prior to creating a webspace for your customers, please follow the steps below to create a
customer in Plesk.
1. Login to your control panel and select the relevant reseller hosting subscription.
2. Click on “Customers” tab at the top.
3. Enter Contact Details for the customer (Contact Name and E-mail Address are required fields)

4. Scroll down to the section “Access to Plesk”. The username and password defined in this section will
allow your customers to access their individual plesk panel to manage their own sites and
subscriptions. Enter a username and password for your customer to access their control panel.
Note: Your customers can access their control panel by using a Web browser and entering:
https://serveripaddress:8443 and entering the username and password you are specifying here.
The serverip address is provided to you in the Web24 Web Hosting - Welcome Account Information
email from Web24.
5. Scroll down to the section “Subscription”. Untick the box “Create subscription for the customer”
(This will be covered in the next sections).

Creating A New Subscription
In order to creating a hosting space for your customer website, you will need to create a Subscription. The
following steps will guide you on creating a new subscription:

Login to your control panel and select the relevant reseller hosting subscription.
Click on “Customers” tab.
Select the customer you would like to add the subscription for.
Click on “Add New Subscription”.
5. Enter the domain name.
6. Enter username and password for the site. This will be used as an ftp user for the site.
7. Repeat the password and click on “OK”.

8. There are several customizable parameters in this screen. Below is a summary of the most frequently

Resources: This tab allows resellers to set specific resource usage limits for their client
subscriptions and ensure that they get notified when any of their customers are exceeding the
resource limits.

Overuse is not allowed:
This disallows overuse of resources and the subscription gets suspended if the resource usage
exceeds the values.
Overuse of disk space and traffic is allowed (Most popular):

Resource Limits: The most important resources used by any subscription are Disk Space and
Traffic. You can set limits for both these as well as additional resources such as Number of
Mailboxes, Mailbox Size, Number of MySQL Databases etc.
