Chicagoland native Paul V. La Schiazza serves as president
of AT&T Illinois, one of the largest private employers in the
state with more than 18,500 employees. A 31-year veteran
of AT&T Corp., La Schiazza began his telecommunications
career in 1979 with Indiana Bell. He has held several
positions in AT&T companies in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan,
Texas and Wisconsin in product management, marketing,
engineering, installation and maintenance, central office maintenance, regulatory and
government affairs. He was named president of AT&T Illinois in October 2006.
During La Schiazza’s tenure as president of AT&T Illinois, the company has invested
more than $3.6 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Illinois and during
the same time the company and its employees have contributed than $22 million
in charitable and foundation giving programs in Chicago and throughout the state.
La Schiazza serves on the board of directors for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce,
Chicago Urban League, Chicago Central Area Committee, Illinois Chamber of
Commerce, Junior Achievement of Chicago and United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.
