Group Packet - The Dillard House
Dear Meeting Planner,
Sometimes it’s good to get away from it all…to seek refuge from the crowds…to find a place that’s free
from distractions and conducive to productive interaction. The Dillard House is that kind of place – a
“Mountain Meeting Place” for meetings and banquets from 25 to 500. And there’s no better time to take
another look at the Dillard House…it’s surprisingly affordable, with spacious facilities and
accommodations and all the updated communications access you’ll need for your group. Our wide
variety of affordable accommodations include chalets, suites, cottages and spacious guest rooms with
queen size beds. The cottages and chalets are ideal for small groups, committee meetings and social gettogethers, with large living rooms, fully-equipped kitchens, decks with rocking chairs and daily
housekeeping service. Most have fireplaces and several have indoor hot tubs – all offer breathtaking
views – without busting your budget. Non-smoking and first floor rooms are available.
The Dillard House is renowned for its family-style dining. Three meals are served daily featuring
recipes handed down through the centuries of Dillards. All feature the freshest vegetables, our own
cured meats and homemade breads, desserts and condiments, prepared daily, and are served with the
best of Southern hospitality to our guests. We also offer catering, bar-b-ques, picnic lunches, steaks and
special gourmet menus for groups.
The many activities at the Dillard House and the surrounding area ensure a memorable visit for any
group. The Dillard House grounds include horseback riding with trails into the National forest
(overnight trips can be arranged), a petting zoo for the kids, swimming, tennis courts, stocked trout
ponds, a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. Nearby is whitewater rafting on the Nantahala, Chattooga
and other rivers – an excellent way to build teamwork. Play golf at one of the three championship golf
courses: Kingwood, located seven miles from the Dillard House, Sky Valley, just four miles and
Highland Cove in nearby Highlands, North Carolina. There are many other attractions less than an
hour’s drive: Smoky Mountain National Park, Harrah’s Casino, Georgia’s Alpine Village at Helen, the
site of America’s first gold rush in Dahlonega, waterfalls and much, much more.
Make your next meeting a real retreat from the ordinary – take it to the mountains. The Dillard House
Group Sales will be happy to help you plan your visit. We look forward to the time when you and your
group will “Come visit the Dillards”.
Cordially,
John Dillard
