THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1964 HONDA CB92 The CB92 was Honda’s first attempt at a sports bike, and this is a very original example. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1976 MV AUGUSTA “S” AMERICA With less than 300 miles on the clock, this is a startling original example of the legendary MV4, directly developed from the bikes raced to world championships by Agostini and Duke. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1933 HARLEY DAVIDSON Only 726 of this high performance 730 Twin were built. Its Ricardodesigned motor spanned the Harley racer specially built for the AMA “C” rules in 1935. This very original bike still sits on its original tires. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1940 INDIAN SCOUT “BOBBER” Before choppers were in vogue in the Sixties and Seventies, receiving their benediction in “Easy Rider,” Bobbers were the bike to have. The concept was to “Bob” off anything unnecessary for form and function. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1967 VELOCETTE THRUXTON Velocette, a great English marque, whose consistent T.T. wins dated from well before World War II, were particularly successful at Thruxton – a long distance production bike race. Hence this superb 500cc single with its characteristic GP carb, special seat and distinctive exhaust. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1959 T120 BONNEVILLE TRIUMPH Many superstars rode Bonnies – not the least of whom was Steve McQueen – and for good reason. Light, flexible and relatively reliable, these were one of the prettiest bikes of the late Fifties. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1949 MOTO-GUZZI AIRONE Moto-Guzzi, with MV and Ducati, is one of the great Italian marques. Guzzi have been in racing since well before the Second World War and their bikes always display certain idiosyncratic design touch. This beautiful Airone is exceptional. THE LOUIS VUITTON CLASSIC 2000 CLASS 5 Motorcycles – The Sporting Tradition 1962 BULTACO METRALLA The Spanish Bultaco, Montesa and Ossa companies, were very well known for their trial bikes. The Metralla shown here is an example of a street bike with the same formula – lightweight, single cylinder, two-stroke motor and good handling.
