Louis Philippe, the French Monarch who reigned during the mid 1800’s,
rejected the lavish styles of his predecessors in favor of classic, unpretentious
silhouettes. As a result, the Delshire collection by Drexel Heritage reflects
that same beautiful appeal of simple elegance through its Louis Philippeinspired grouping.
Even though these pieces appear to have less ornamentation than other
furniture styles, the look is strikingly elegant through a simple blend of
sturdy hardwoods and graceful, aged brass hardware. Items in the
collection are fashioned from select hardwood solids, figured maple and
lush cherry veneers.
Each piece of Delshire is lovely because Drexel Heritage uses its own
special techniques to create this collection. The woods have pronounced
grain patterns with color variations. And each piece is finished by hand in
a process that involves many steps. In order to create the impression of
aged furniture, corners are curved, edges are gently rounded and wood
surfaces appear to have wormholes. With its gentle, timeworn ambiance,
Delshire evokes the feeling of cherished antiques.
The Louis Philippe Collection is offered in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom size homes
that are identified as Houses A, B and C respectively. When a Louis
Philippe House B or C is purchased it includes an 18th Century style Guest
Bedroom. Each house is available in five different color schemes.
