Making the blocks
Referring to the quilt photo for
fabric combinations, and the assembly
diagram for block construction,
arrange 8 A, 4 B, 2 C and 1 D patch for
each block. Make sure any directional
prints are oriented correctly.

Join each pair of A patches along
adjacent edges. Sew the joined A
patches to a B patch along one long
edge to make the corner units.

Join a corner unit to each long edge
of the C patches.

Repeat steps 1-4 to make a total of
20 blocks.

Assembly
Finishing
Remove the selvages, then cut the
backing fabric into two equal lengths.
Sew the two pieces together along one
long edge, using a 1/2" seam allowance.
Press the seam open.
Layer the quilt back, batting and quilt
top. Quilt as desired. Stitch around
the outer edge of the quilt, a scant 1/4"
from the edge of the quilt top. Use
your favorite method to bind the quilt.

Referring to the assembly diagram,
arrange the blocks into 5 rows of 4
blocks each.

Join the blocks in each row along
adjacent edges. Press the seams in
alternate directions from row to row.
Sew the rows together. Press the
seams in one direction.
