Walk for Reconciliation – Sunday, May 31, 2015 Information Sheet Walk Start: École secondaire de l'Île, 255 rue Saint-­‐Rédempteur Street in Gatineau (next to the Robert Guertin Arena, where there will be parking) Date: Sunday May 31, 2015 Time: Stage program begins at 11AM and the Walk will start at 12Noon. Finish Site: Marion Dewar Plaza (Ottawa CIty Hall), 110 Laurier Ave. West Walk Route: From Saint-­‐Rédempteur; left on des Allumetières; right on Maisonneuve, over Portage Bridge, left on Wellington; right on Elgin and left on Laurier W. Shorter Walk Route: The full walk will be under 5KM. If you would prefer to walk a shorter distance, you will be able to do so. Please join the ceremony on Victoria Island at 12:30pm. Cost: Participation is free and all are welcome. Food and beverage: You will be able to purchase refreshments at the start of the Walk at the École secondaire de l'Île. Proceeds will go in support of the school's athletic and other programs. We encourage you to bring snacks for yourself and others, to share! Walk Route Map Full route Short route -­‐-­‐-­‐-­‐-­‐-­‐-­‐ Shuttle Bus Information We have free shuttle buses, provided by the Walk for Reconciliation. They will be OC Transpo articulated buses running continuously from Ottawa City Hall and Marion Dewar Plaza to L’Ecole Secondaire de L’Ile. Participants are asked to park in downtown Ottawa then walk over to Marion Dewar Plaza. There is on-­‐street parking as well as these lots: Catch the bus on Laurier Ave between 9:40 and 11:40. All buses will cross the Portage Bridge. Those that wish to walk from Victoria Island can unload there, use the pathway that goes under the Bridge and congregate on the west side. There will be signs and volunteers to direct you. Those that wish to continue to the more official start at L’Ecole Secondaire de L’Ile will stay on the bus and continue onward to be dropped off there.
