Dear readers,
It gives me immense pleasure to bring the 1st Edition of Biesse News 2016 to you all.
Last three months has been a quite an eventful period for Biesse India. We participated in 3 events
pertaining to 2 different industries viz; wood and plastic, with Indiawood 2016 being the major
highlight. At the same time training programmes were organized at Biesse India for Biesse India
employees and Biesse products service provider. In this edition we will also have a look at Biesse
new manufacturing unit coming up at Makali, Bangalore and some of the latest technologies
introduced by Biesse recently.

Biesse at Indiawood 2016
With the concept of Think4ward, Biesse
India participated in Indiawood 2016, the
9th Edition of Indiawood, South Asia’s
largest trade fair for the woodworking and
furniture manufacturing sector held from
25th to 29th February 2016 at Bangalore
International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore,
India.
Event Highlights
Indiawood 2016 received a footfall of
50,800, a substantial 55% increase over
its previous edition in 2014.There were
more than 600 visitors from as many as
53 countries who visited this event.
Visitors came from over 830 towns and cities in 34 states and Union territories across India. All in all it
was a successful event for Biesse India as well.
Rover A 5 Axis Machining Center – A major attraction of Biesse stall
On display were the 17 Biesse Machines ranging from Sizing, Edge banding, Routing and Boring to Hot
Press solutions with latest Softwares. A dedicated booth was put up for Advance Materials Machining as
well. Rover A 5 Axis Machining center was on live demo for the first time in India at Indiawood 2016.This
machine was one of the major attractions at the Biesse Stall. Visitors showed lot of interest in exploring
the machine, specially the design, features and applications of the machine.

Rover A 5-axis CNC Machining Center
The Rover A with the 5-axis operating head, equipped with
13 kW HSD spindle and 360 degree continuous rotation on
the vertical and horizontal axes, enables the machining of
complex-shaped work pieces ensuring quality, precision
and absolute long term reliability. This machine is an ideal
solution for manufacturing solid wood furniture elements.
With a wide range of sizes and configurations, the Rover A
is ideally suited for small and large shops that need to
manufacture a wide variety of components in smallmedium batches.
360° continuous rotation on the 5 axis spindle, thanks to an internal
rotating collector: A very important feature to guarantee the feasibility of
many operations requiring a continuous C axis rotation.

European Dealers Meet 2016 at Biesse India
Dealers from European Union (Netherlands, Sweden, Latvia, Hungary and Serbia) visited BSM from 28th
February to 1st March 2016. The visit also coincided with Indiawood 2016 event, where the dealers had
the opportunity to visit Biesse stall for the live demonstrations on BSM made machines. The dealers were
taken on a tour to our manufacturing plant, Jade Edgebanders Assembly line at Peenya unit and the
Assembly plant for CNC, Sizing and Hot Press machines in Nelamangala.
They have appreciated the facilities, technology, processes, quality and the professionalism in BSM during
their visit. They have espoused interest in BSM made machines and are very keen in introducing and
selling them in their markets.
Biesse India at Plastasia 2016
Biesse India for the first time participated in the 5th edition of GAIL-PLASTASIA-2016 was held at the
Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 3rd to 6th March 2016. As mentioned by the organizers, this was an event
which promoted excellence in the field of PLASTICS. On display were the entire range of Plastic
Processing Machinery, Accessories, Raw materials, Additives, Master batches, Intermediates, Blends and
Alloys and Composites, a range of quality control and testing equipment, machinery for foams & welding
machines, IT applications and ancillary equipment, were among others. Biesse Rover Plast J FT 1530
machine was on display at this event.
The main objective of Biesse India to participate in this Exhibition was to explore new opportunities in the
plastic industry, establish brand image, contacts and initiate business deals. The Exhibition witnessed
participation from several countries like Germany, Korea, Italy and Japan with separate pavilions from
CHINA and TAIWAN. Apart from major plastic players the event witnessed participation from SME
segment of the industry. This was supported by NSIC by way of their beneficial schemes.

Rover Plast J CE
The new Rover Plast J CE with state of the art
technology from Biesse has been developed to meet
the operating needs of plastic and advanced
materials. With high-tech, innovative solutions for
processing technologically advanced material;
Rover Plast J FT CNC is widely used in signage
industries. The gantry structure NC processing
center can also perform Nesting & Routing
applications. This machine has been already
exported to EU market.

Tangential cutting Unit - TCM-3
The TCM-3 Tangential cutting unit is a processing unit that can be used to
cut various materials such as foils, foamed PVC, rubber, natural rubber,
synthetic fibres, technical fabrics, foamed polyurethanes etc.
Electrical Oscillating Unit – EOT-2
The EOT-2 is a processing unit that is generally designed to cut various
materials such as cardboard, sealing material, foils, corrugated cardboard,
and carbon fibre prepreg material, leather, foamed PVC, rigid foam and many
others.

Creasing Unit – TCT-1
The TCT-1 is a processing unit that is generally designed to crease
cardboard, corrugated cardboard and thin polypropylene material.
Video camera for acquisition of the printing marker
The video camera and the related Optiscout software are able to detect the
registration marks on the printed material and generate the cutting traces to
adjust the cutting program accordingly, thus ensuring exact alignment of the
cutting tool and the printed material with both the Plastic group units and
router tools.
Kaizen Training at BSM Bangalore
Kaizen training took place on March 3rd, 2016 at Biesse India Peenya plant Bangalore. Objective of the
training was to understand the basic concepts of lean manufacturing theory and Kaizen concept. Training
was given by Mr. Lorenzo Baioni with the support of Mr.Tommaso Fortuni from Kaizen team Biesse Italy
to the employees of Biesse Nelamangala plant. Theory lesson, Carton Box exercise (simulation of a
company that produce boxes – 1°step: non lean company, 2° step: non lean but well organized company,
3° step: lean company) were some of the highlights of the training sessions. Feedback from the attendees
- “The training was interesting and well organized”.

India Kitchen Congress 2016 – Decoding Make in India
As an associate sponsor, Biesse India participated in the 6th edition of India Kitchen Congress which was
held at the Leela Ambience Gurgaon on 15th -16th March 2016. The event witnessed the blend of
manufacturers, e-tailers, start-ups, retailers, and franchisees, component suppliers, designers, investors
and HNIs. As per the organizers report, for two days, over 350 industry and design professionals and
entrepreneurs shared experiences, learnt more about developments in the industry, and engaged in
business networking. The two-day annual conference cum exhibition for the kitchen and modular
furniture industry was designed with an ideal mix of panel discussions, keynote addresses and
presentations, besides networking breaks for business discussions. This year the major focus was on
Design, e-commerce, Manufacturing, Franchising, and Skill Development.

On the first day of the conference, Mr.Ganesan S, Senior Manager Quality, Biesse India, spoke on the topic
how to achieve Zero defect in Quality system.

Glimpses of Biesse at IKC 2016
Training for Biesse Products Service Provider
Training sessions were organized for Biesse products service provider (M/S. Total Group consulting d.o.o
Serbia) at Biesse India Nelamangala plant, Bangalore from 11th April to 22rd April 2016. Hands on training
was provided on Sizing, Edge banding and CNC machines of Biesse. The emphasis was given on
operation & maintenance, installation, trouble shooting, basic software, advanced software, assembly and
testing of the machines. Total Group technicians from Serbia, Russia and Egypt attended these training
sessions.

Biesse India New Manufacturing Unit at Makali, Bangalore
Biesse New Unit at Makali under Construction
Biesse India is coming up with a new manufacturing unit at Makali, Bangalore. The new unit would be
spread over an area of 20600 sqm, which includes facilities like 16500 sqm of shop floor, with 600 sqm
trading area, 2200sqm of office premises and other facilities spread over an area of 1400 sqm. The
growing demand for Biesse machines and the present production plant at Peenya, exceeding the
maximum production capacity, has led to this expansion at Makali. Maximum production capacity of this
new unit would be 1500 machines/ year. With an investment of more than 5 million Euros, this unit would
be equipped with new facilities like powder coating, milling machine and 6mtr laser cutting machine and
some of the other new facilities as well. The plant is likely to be inaugrated in October 2016.The entire
facility at Peenya would be relocated to this new unit at Makali.
