TISHOMINGO COUNTY WINS PROJECT ORIGIN. Project Origin considered sites in Kentucky, Georgia, and Mississippi. The former
Dennen Steel building was the Mississippi
site.
After lengthy negotiations, the Tishomingo
County Board of Supervisors won the project
with the help of the Mississippi Development
Authority, Tennessee Valley Authority, and
Northeast Mississippi Community College.
Project Origin is Feinwerktechnik hago
GmbH of Kussaberg, Germany. The company manufactures automotive parts for BMW,
Mercedes, and others.
The Mississippi operation will be the first USA
plant for the company. The USA company
name is Hago Automotive. The company will
initially invest approximately $10 million and
create at least 81 jobs.
The Mississippi Development Authority has
committed $500,000 in grant funds to purchase the two bridge cranes in the building
and to move equipment from Germany to
the USA. Shown at left is an example of one
of the presses to be moved, a 630 ton servo
transfer press.
Formal announcement by Governor Bryant is
scheduled on December 18, 2015, at 9 AM.
More information on Hago Automotive can
be found at www.hago-ft.de/en/unternehmen/hago-automotive-corp/hago-automotive-corp.php.

We still have a lot of work to
do, but just about everyone in
Tishomingo County has family
or friends working at one of the
companies that have been recruited to, or has expanded in,
Tishomingo County. Most businesses have customers that get
their paychecks from these companies, or sell products or services to these companies. Everyone benefits directly or indirectly
from economic development,
including the school system that
receives significant new tax revenue from economic development
projects.
Be sure to thank TCDF Partners
in Progress and do business with
those businesses that support
economic development. A listing of these partners is on the
front page of this update. You can
learn more about these community minded businesses at http://
www.tishomingo.org/pdf_docs/

Also, remember to thank our
TCDF, TCEDA, and TCTC board
members who serve without
compensation of any kind.
