“I once heard that a person makes an average of four decisions in his or her
life that influence the rest of his or her life, and for me doing the Creative Arts
Academy at Jubilee Training Centre was one of those big decisions that I will
never forget and will benefit from for the rest of my life. “

Introduction
John & Canja Cable
John & Canja Cable God birthed within John and Canja Cable a dream to see men and women
of God reach their potential and realise that their destiny is within their grasp. Out of this dream
came the Jubilee Training Centre. The training centre’s major focus is on character development
through intense interaction and practical day-to-day Christian living. Their ultimate desire is to
see men and women achieve great things in God, shaking nations and changing the world for the
establishment of God’s kingdom in their generation.

John Cable • Principal
Established in 2001, the heart of Jubilee
Training Centre is to practically equip,
raise and release leaders within the
Church, community and business
world with a Christ-centred foundation,
enabling them to make godly decisions
that will sustain them in every area of
their life and ministry.
We believe in raising mature sons and
daughters of Christ who are passionate
about His Kingdom, accurately reflecting
and representing the Father in every
sphere of life.
The concept of the Jubilee Training
Centre was birthed out of a realisation
that a gap exists between the type
of training received from a standard
theological qualification, and the type
of practical equipping and character
development required to lead within the
local church. The former qualification
produces theoretical knowledge, but the
Message from the Principal - John Cable
fundamental need of a church leader
in the 21st century includes a tested,
proven character that will sustain his or
her gifting and calling.
Jubilee Training Centre is firmly rooted
in the church, God’s intended vehicle for
the equipping of the saints and His voice
to the world. We are covered pastorally
by Jubilee Church, which is a resource
church involved in training leaders and
giving input into various churches locally,
nationally, and internationally. We realise
that not all churches have the resources
to equip and train their leaders. It is
therefore our heart to receive students
sent by their local church and provide
them with the opportunity to experience
the major aspects of Christian ministry.
With a solid foundation of theology and
practical testing of their character, the
student is then sent back to their local
church to serve as God leads.
Mission trip to Africa
Jubilee Training Centre at a glance
It is such a privilege to be a part of what
God is doing in so many people’s lives,
especially after the impact the Training
Centre had on radically changing my
own life. After completing the flagship
course, Year of Training, in 1998, with
my wife Canja, it is now our heart to see
that same transformation in the lives of
others, and to see God’s potential and
purpose realised in the same way that
we experienced.
For us theory is only the start. The people
recognised that the disciples were not
learned men, but had spent time with
Jesus (see Acts 4:13). In the same way,
we do not only want to impart head
knowledge, but give the opportunity for
students to be wholly changed.
I have had the opportunity to pray for
and see many people healed physically
in many parts of the world; I’ve seen
the blind see and the lame walk; but
the greatest miracle of all is seeing a
life permanently changed to reflect the
character of Christ.
We have five fantastic courses with
dedicated leadership teams who have
a passion to see lives, communities and
nations transformed. Jubilee Training
Centre in association with SATS offer
recognised accredited qualification.

Year of Training

Year of Training is a leadership course with a difference... a unique and
dynamic year of preparation for life and ministry. Not only does it include
biblical and theoretical teaching, it also focuses on character and leadership
development through practical training!
The year is geared towards maturing your faith as an individual and as
part of a team, establishing knowledge and understanding of Biblical
Principles and fostering your relationship with God. The equipping is
followed by practical application and on-going discipleship as you share
accommodation with your fellow students and course leaders, making Year
of Training more than just your average Bible School... it’s a true foundation
for life.
The world doesn’t need any more gifted individuals... Year of Training seeks
to develop people with strong character, a passion for God and an ability to
transform their sphere of influence.
I have been crucified with Christ
and I no longer live, but Christ
lives in me. The life I live in the
body, I live by faith in the Son
of God, who loved me and gave
Himself for me.

Creative Arts Academy
Training for a life of
uncompromising worship
But an hour is coming, and now
is, when the true worshippers will
worship the Father in spirit and
truth; for such people the Father
seeks to be His worshippers.
God is spirit, and those who
worship Him must worship in
spirit and truth.
John 4:23-24 (NASB)
Creative Arts Academy’s heart is
about placing God centre stage in your life
while pursuing excellence in the talents God
has given you! Our passion is to see the world
transformed by gifted artists, who have the
heart of a worshipper and the character of
the King. We are a year long course where you
join a team of artists, combining talents and
adventuring together to further His Kingdom
inside and outside the Body of Christ. As a
residential course, we provide an environment of
close discipleship and mentoring by the course
leaders. CAA is for anyone with a deep hunger to
pursue a lifestyle of worship, specifically aimed
at those who will give their lives to serve the
Kingdom of God with their artistic talents and to
inspire others to do the same.

Saturation School of Missions
Please note that this is a second year Training Centre course only.
Saturation School of Missions
14
Saturation is an urban and rural missions training
course designed to equip you with the required
theory, best practice and spiritual principles to
succeed in modern day missions and outreach. This
is achieved through understanding how Kingdom
principles apply to all aspects of life including
meeting a practical, spiritual, relational, and
financial need.
The first five months comprise both theoretical
learning and practical equipping within the
classroom, followed by assignments and
opportunities to serve and get involved with local
community projects. This leads into a five-month
international mission placement at an established
resource church in a developing nation, where
students are given a further opportunity to apply all
they have learned. Throughout the course students
undergo consistent feedback and evaluation to
maximise the application of the training received
throughout the course.
The heart of Saturation is to train up and release
individuals who accurately represent and reflect
their Heavenly Father, and have the passion and skill
to see individuals and communities transformed by
His Kingdom principles.
If you tread paths that no one has ever
trodden, you will arrive in places that no one
has ever been. Treading new paths is never
easy. On the contrary, it is always fraught
with obstacles. But that is how new ground is
won, new discoveries made. - Matt Roper

17
Saturation School of Missions
Phase 2 is full of exciting and unique opportunities. From February to June,
the student go on a 5 months international mission together as a team and
is a period in which the bulk of the theory is put into practice. Based in an

leaders, and from there have involvement with existing community outreach
programs and the pioneering of new projects locally and internationally.
The projects include:
Healing the sick
Accommodation in South Africa
Rural outreach
Orphan Houses

Aids (HIV) clinics
Schools work amongst the underprivileged
The course has 3 phases. The 1st phase will take place in
Maidstone, United Kingdom within the Jubilee Training

Phase 1
Theory Training
At the start of each course the students travel to a different
location for orientation. This is an exceptional time where
friendships are forged and team is built. Saturation’s flexible
tailor-made approach produces a unique course each year that
is adapted to the needs of the individual and the flavour of the
group dynamic. The course is broken down into 6 modules,
each providing a block of theory which is then followed up by
practical application and assessment.
Module 7 Outdoor Survival Skills
The students are required to read a number of books during the
year and submit written assignments.
The first 5 months of classroom training is full time and nonresidential from Monday to Friday. The taking part in extra
practical equipping, community projects and local missions
is required in addition to the lectures. Phase 1 runs from

School of the Word
School of the Words
18
19
All Scripture is inspired by God and is
useful to teach us what is true and to
make us realise what is wrong in our lives.
It straightens us out and teaches us to do
what is right.
2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)
Observe • Understand • Apply - These three words sum up the heart of School of the Word. We
believe the Bible is about real people in real places with real problems and our passion is to see you,
the student, delve deep into the treasures of the Bible, let God’s Word speak for itself and graduate
having a greater understanding of the whole counsel of God. Our aim is to allow the Word to lay
solid biblical foundations, developing and maturing your character into all God has called you to
within His Kingdom.
At the heart of everything, time together as family is key, so we work hard and play hard! Alongside
the class lectures, there are a variety of trips and fun but challenging practical and community
projects. An exciting highlight of the course is a trip to Israel where we have the chance to walk in
the very places Jesus walked, a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity! By the end of the year you will have
written your own Bible commentary and will be equipped with tools for a lifetime of exploring and
applying the eternal truths of God’s Word.

Inductive study
School of the Words
20
Relational time
During School of the Word the main
approach we use is a method of ‘Inductive
Study’, whereby you learn to use various
tools to observe closely what the text
really says, interpreting Scripture with
Scripture. You will be encouraged to ask
questions: ‘Who’, ‘What’, ‘Where’ , ‘When’,
‘How’ and ‘Why’ and find answers together,
learning from each other’s observations in
a dynamic and interactive environment.
In lectures you will also receive in-depth
teaching to help you gain a clear overview
of each book and its major themes. You will
then write a commentary based on your
observations and the understanding you
have gained. This inductive study process
enables you to discover what is being said
‘there and then’ in order to know what it
means ‘here and now’ for your life today.
Relationship-building
and mentoring
School of the Word is a non-residential
course but our ethos is firmly based on
putting relationship before structure, so
we strongly promote relationship-building
within the course. This is facilitated at the
start by a week of ‘Orientation’, where we
go away together, spending time getting
to know each other and building a sense of
‘family’. This is followed up by regular group
relational time and a variety of other fun
social events organised throughout the year.
As God reveals things to you through
His Word, the course leaders will also be
available to come alongside you, on an
individual basis, to help process what God
has shown you.
Beyond the classroom
21
We believe that studying God’s Word is not about just developing ‘head knowledge’
but should make a difference to the way we live our lives. In order to facilitate
character development, you will be encouraged during the year to serve in the
church and the community in various ways and take part in practical projects as well
as get involved in Jubilee ‘church life’. There will also be an opportunity in the third
term to put into practice all the biblical principles you have learned through a shortterm mission!
Israel trip
In the community
One of the highlights of the year in School of the Word is a fabulous tour of the Holy
Land! This trip allows you to see for yourself many of the key places from the Old and
New Testament which you will have read about. It is an invaluable way of gaining
insight into the rich history of the land – besides being a precious time together as
family! The trip takes place in the Easter holidays and the cost is in addition to course
fees, but it really is an opportunity not to be missed!
Course timetable
School of the Word is a dynamic full-time non-residential course from Monday to
Friday, which runs from September through to July each year. There are three terms
during the year with a break at Christmas and Easter of about three weeks each.
There are generally books to be read and assignments to be completed each week,
as well as other exciting trips and activities outside of these times. At the beginning
of the year we will go away together for relationship-building on ‘Orientation Week’
and in the third term there is the highlight of a short-term mission! You will also be
encouraged to enter fully into the life of Jubilee Church through participating in cells
and other church activities.

Young Entrepreneurs Business School

Young Entrepreneurs Business School
22
The purpose of the Young Entrepreneurs Business School is to ground
men and women in key principles for business and life.
It provides students with a solid theoretical platform alongside practical
equipping in the area of business and entrepreneurship. We want to see
a generation rise up within the business field whose motive is not solely
for personal gain, but instead for transformation within individuals and
communities. From the start we encourage the students to ask questions
and to learn from the successes and failures of others.
Our aim is for the school graduates to have gained a springboard
into starting their own business or be better equipped to work as
part of a team.
Influence is a result of our love,
humility and obedience to
God, not a goal to be achieved.
It is the fruit of our obedience.

Jesus
“I do, you watch... You do, I watch... Now YOU go and do”...
At the start of the year the students undergo an orientation where they spend time
getting to know one another through various practical and physical challenges.
During this demanding but enjoyable time, they learn the principles of team work
and what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves. Lectures run
daily in an intensive yet interactive environment. At various points throughout
the year the students will also have the opportunity to meet, learn from, and
work alongside various business leaders within the fields of Arts & Entertainment,
Business, Education, Family, Government, Media, Charity, and Church. The school sets
various challenging and exciting practical projects to develop in the students what
is required in launching a successful business. Throughout the year the students will
also receive personal mentoring.
Solid Foundations Phase

The first term focuses primarily on
Solid Foundations. The emphasis is on
intense theoretical training covering

in Business Studies
which will count towards
obtaining a degree.
The second term is more practical in
nature. Students have the opportunity

begin to put into practice the skills and
principles learnt in the first term.
Enterprise Phase (third term)
In the third term each student will
have the opportunity to start their
own business or become involved with

Further information
• It is rooted in the local church, giving the student a practical understanding of what it means to be

Each person has a different call on their
life, and our heart is to help the student
discover what that calling is. The aim
of each course is to practically equip
you for life and ministry. Students from
other churches are expected to return
to their home churches to serve. Some
students stay on for a second year, either
as a student leader or enrolling in a
second or third course to complete their
Bachelor of Theology degree. Others
will further their education at university,
start a business, return to work with a
different perspective, or even join the
training centre staff team at any one of
our bases nationally or internationally.
Our vision is to equip the Body of Christ
and to build local church. Therefore, if a
student is sent for training by another
church, it is important for that student
to return and serve.
International students
We welcome international students
and have had more than 20 nations
represented so far in the training centre.

Revelation 12:11 (NIV)
My year at Jubilee Training Centre’s Creative Arts
Academy gave me a sense of purpose. I made
awesome friends that I believe I’ll have forever. It gave
me musical and leadership skills that I can pass on to
the next generation. I gained a deeper understanding
of the Word and living life for God, but most
importantly it gave me a deeper relationship with my
heavenly Dad, whom I live to worship.

To study His book and words has become like a
door into His home, a hand on His chest to feel the
heartbeat, an umbilical cord to feed His life into me.
School of the Word has been a great tool for me to
get to know Him more and the people who have His
heart, and to come closer to Him in a deeper way.
There is no way that spending time with Him and
these guys will not change me. I know I am, and I
will be, a different person through this.
Daniela Helfrich - Germany
Student Testimonies
When we seek God and His will for our lives it
is amazing the doors that He opens. Through
a series of unexpected events, God brought
me across the world and into Jubilee Training
Centre’s Year of Training. Here I have learned
about the family of God, Kingdom principles
and gained a sure foundation in Christ. I am able
to live a fuller, purposeful abundant life now
because God showed me who I am in Him, and
set me free to live for Him. Now I’ve tasted this
life, I’m sold out for it!
This course has given me a
different perspective on what
‘mission’ is in today’s world; it’s not
just going abroad for a couple of
weeks, it is being involved wherever
you find yourself; whether at
work, at school, in your street or
neighbourhood; wherever you are,
that is your ‘mission’ field. It has
changed me and impacted me in so
many ways and it can do the same for you. Go for it!
Tim Price - Australia
Lisa Brook - England
Year of Training has been a journey that God
has taken me on to bring wholeness into my
life. Prior to Year of Training, I had unhealthy
relationships with those around me. This
created the need to find acceptance and
approval with people and a deep longing
to be fathered. In Year of Training, God has
placed leaders around me, and through these
relationships God has brought healing, has
shown me the Father’s heart, and has helped
me to walk as a son.
Steve Lee - Canada
So far on CAA I’ve begun to
understand the importance of
grabbing opportunities. We only
get one shot on this earth so we
need to be ready for what God has
in store for us!
In the last few months I have read books which I have
read before, but it is as if I am reading them for the
first time. In each book God is showing me things that
I have never seen, shedding a whole new light on a
passage. It is as if I have looked on these books from
the window of an express train, but now He is taking
me on a walking tour through His Word, making me
stop and gaze and wonder. He is gently leading me to
go deeper. The more He reveals of Himself, the more I
realise there is to know.
Nicky Kendall - England
Everyone’s experience in
the Training Centre is so
different. I believe that is
because God is doing a work
that is personal and specific
to each one of us. I was apart
of the Training Centre for
three years in total. Before
I came to the TC, I thought I was pretty solid in my
walk with God. Uh... not so. But God is so faithful! My
hope was that God would make me into the person
I was created to be. The crazy thing is that during
the year, I thought my character was getting worse
rather than better. God indeed was doing a work but
not the way I had assumed He would do it. He used
Year of Training and Creative Arts Academy to bring
things about my character that were hidden, even
from me, to the surface. Since then He has carefully,
strategically, and tenderly dealt with each thing.
Thank God for a safe place to make mistakes.
Thank God for people who became like family, who
supported me and never gave up on me. I also have
been privileged to make friends that I know I will
have for life.
Although life can sometimes be messy and it doesn’t
always go the way I want it to, I believe that with the
biblical understanding and deepened relationship
with God cultivated while at the Training Centre, He
will continue to mould me and shape me so that
I look more and more like Christ. I just have to be
willing, and if I am, the results are FANTASTIC. He
really is the author and perfector of my faith and has
taken me from one level to the next.
Ida Mhunduru - USA
Our adventure at the Jubilee Training Centre during its pioneering year in September
2001 was the launch of a very exciting journey. An accelerated learning curve
prepared us for both the ups and downs we have experienced in the past 10 years
through which God has been faithful. The joy of seeing over 100 people pass through
the doors of the Training Centre and the way in which it has grown and developed has
been a tremendous privilege. The foundation laid during our Year of Training has stood
us in good stead in understanding the need for family and team work, allowing us to
realise that we are able to achieve so much more in God than we originally thought
possible. We look back on this time with fond memories and a sense of belonging to
something greater than ourselves.

Doing Saturation School of Missions was one
of the best decisions I have made. During
this year, God placed a new passion for His
Kingdom in my heart and He showed me that
it is not only about having eternal life with Him
through Jesus, but He also wants to establish
order in every aspect of my life. Then, He can
use me to carry this message of hope to the
different environments He sends me to.
At the start of this new journey, He
has brought me straight to where it all
begins – falling in love with Him. And
from this place, I know there won’t be
a thing too big, too wide, too hard;
because I know the One Who is bigger
than the universe, Whose love for me is
wider than the oceans and in Whom all
things are possible.
Paul Kloppers - South Africa
Emma Vanhyfte - Belgium
I chose to do this course because I am
very passionate about making a difference
in people’s lives in third world countries,
especially the rural areas. My time at
Saturation was amazing and I would never
have swapped it for anything and, yes, I
certainly feel better equipped for both local
and international missions.
Being a part of the training centre, and
particularly the Year of Training course,
has changed the way I view myself,
my place in the world and the way I
see God. Before coming I was dry in
my faith, burnt out and drowning in
passivity. The course has really given me the
opportunity to break out of my comfort zone,
experience God’s power of transformation
and tackle challenges head on in my life.
When I look back I am scared to think of what
may have been if I did not come. Although
extremely challenging and hard work, I am
already seeing the fruits in my own life and in
my family as I am being equipped to step up
to the plate and step into the calling that God
has on my life.
Faith Dziruni - Zimbabwe
Wow, time really flies by quickly… It seems like
only yesterday when I was on the ferry waiting
to arrive in England. In only a few months I’ve
experienced such spiritual growth in my life
and a changing of my attitude. God showed
me during this course that I can just be myself
and that I do not have to be scared of being
me. He’s showing me again and again why He
gave me the talent and passion of dance and
how I can use it for Him.

We wouldn’t have the Bearsted Fair if it wasn’t for the Jubilee
Training Centre, because of their help with the set up and
pack down, as well as serving throughout the event. They do
it with such enthusiasm and joy and we are very grateful to
the staff and students.
The Jubilee Training Centre staff and students spent a week
helping to refurbish the Bearsted & Thurnham King George V
Memorial Hall in 2008. They absolutely transformed the hall by
fitting new carpets and redecorating. They gave time and energy.
‘Thank you’ is never enough for the contribution they give to the
Bearsted community.

The Jubilee Training Centre has worked with Roseacre Junior
School for the last two years. Each year they work with Year 6
and in an intensive week they teach the children about music,
dance, drama and art. It is a very busy and very enjoyable week
for pupils and staff alike that culminates in an amazing musical
theatre production to parents on the Friday. The children
absolutely love the time spent with the Jubilee staff and learn
so much from them - academically and socially. This week is the
highlight of the year for many of the 100+ Year 6 children, as
well as being entertaining for all at Roseacre.

A partnership with SATS (South African
Theological Seminary) enables students
to earn credits towards completion
of a degree qualification in theology.
These qualifications are internationally
recognised and accepted by UK
Naric, the UK national qualifications
agency. Credits are transferable to
other qualifications depending on the
direction of study in question.
Jubilee Training Centre’s curriculum
dovetails with the SATS subjects
giving our students 50% of the first or
second year of a degree in theology.
The remaining 50% of each year is
studied directly through SATS via online
learning. Students also study within a
group context in the training centre
environment, facilitating discussion and
interpersonal learning.
After your first year of either “Year
of training”, “School of the Word”, or
“Creative Arts Academy”, students
qualify for an undergraduate certificate.
The certificate counts as a standalone
qualification in its own right or can form
the first year of a Bachelor of Theology
degree. Saturation School of Missions is
structured for completing the third year
of the degree with additional course
credits built into the year.
We have developed a strong relationship
with SATS and believe that the course
material is among the best in the world.
All our students have loved the content
and style of the subjects. They regularly
comment on the ease of studying through
SATS as they offer a quick and professional
service. Students can continue their
studies directly though SATS after
graduating from the Jubilee Training
Centre using the wealth of recognised
qualifications available. Please see their
website for details: www.satsonline.org

Living Well Church, a CotN church based
in Plymouth, Devon, is led by Neil and
Lynn Collins and their team. SWEAT
(South West Equipping and Training),
birthed out of the Jubilee Training Centre
in 2009, has become an established
Training Centre in its own right and has a
large influence into its local community
and surrounding areas.
Koinonia Church, located 90 minutes northwest of Pretoria in Modimolle (Nylstroom),
South Africa, oversees our most recent training centre plant. Led by Jan and Marianne
Buys and their team, the church continues to impact a large number of local and
surrounding communities.
SWEAT has the same DNA and ethos as
Jubilee Training Centre and they work
closely together throughout the year.
The training centres regularly meet to
share resources and to build relationally
amongst the staff and students.
Plymouth is a vibrant waterfront city and
offers a wealth of attractions and activities.
It serves a large student population due to
its well-known university.

Koinonia Training Centre is set in an idyllic farm location amongst game farms but also
within reach of local impoverished settlements. It focuses more on developing nations
and how to bring kingdom principles into different and varied cultures. The students
have a unique opportunity to work into local orphanages, AIDS (HIV) clinics and
homeless shelters, to name a few.
Halfway through the academic year, Koinonia Training Centre will host the Jubilee
Training Centre ‘Saturation School of Missions’ students and work alongside them
relationally as part of their rural missions’ training.
