As we reach the mid-point in the summer; while most of you are likely consumed and distracted by holidays, the kids,
the great weather and just plain enjoying the outdoors; we concluded that one Newsletter(this one) would be enough
for you to digest before you get back to the fun.
However, that is not to say that things have been quiet around here, so this Newsletter will serve as a news update
along with a mostly pictorial review of just some of the new arrivals here at Mini Grid. Both the die-cast model and slot
car manufacturers have been busy…
Before we go there, however, some News & Notes to get you excited about the fast approaching Fall season:
“Motorsport Movie Night” returns…
Yes, we are very close to announcing what would be our 3rd “Motorsport Movie Night”. For those of you who attended
either or both of the very successful and popular evenings back in 2010 and 2011 you will no doubt remember that we
feature a motorsport film of significance and quality and put it on the big screen right here at the Regent Theatre on Mt.
Pleasant. Additionally we invite some special guests (some of whom actually participated or appeared in the film) and
they further add to the enjoyment of the evening with an exclusive Q&A following the movie.
Our 2014 feature promises to be our best yet, and we are just finalizing all the details and guests of honour. The likely
date will be sometime in October so spread the word and stay tuned. Tickets will likely be in demand and we expect this
event to sell out. However, as a Mini Grid ‘subscriber’ the first announcement will be made to this very Newsletter
listing, so you will have a head start to secure your seats.
Mosport & Mini Grid: The Mini Grid Trailer’s ‘Final Bow’
As always it was great to see many of our friends and customers at the Mini Grid trailer up at Mosport July 11th-13th for
the IMSA Sportscar event. We will be up there again for the NASCAR Truck Series on August 30th -31st as well, but sadly
that will likely be the last race for the long serving but now suffering Mini Grid trailer. After nearly 30 years of service
(first as a race trailer before being converted to the Mini Grid merchandising trailer) the elements have taken their toll
on her; and along with the continued expansion and improvements to the Mosport facilities which will see ‘our space’
being required for other uses, it is time to put her out to pasture.

Jagermeister Ford Capri
While Slot.It is known for its fantastic array of Group C cars, just
down the road Sideways Slot Cars continue to grow their line of
exotic and spectacular looking Group 5 machines.
Arriving recently is the great looking “Jagermeister” Zakspeed Ford
Capri Turbo that Klaus Ludwig drove throughout the 1982 DRM
Championship.
Then there is the sleek, low and long Ferrari 512BB LM but this time
in Ecurie Francorchamps home country racing colours (Belgium) of
yellow. This version ran at Le Mans in 1979. Each car goes for $76.
More Group 5 cars to look forward to from Sideways in the near
future include the “BASF” BMW M1 (stunning!); and two versions of
