Food for Thought for the New Year
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a
listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which
have the potential to turn a life around. ---- Leo Buscaglia
We have seen how these actions, coupled with the donations given
by the many generous individuals, churches, schools, and businesses
of this community and surrounding area have the power to change
people’s lives. As in 2015, the New Year, 2016, has thankfully
continued this trend. In January and February we have these
groups and individuals to thank:

Our wonderful friends at R Grocery Outlet recently held
a "heart" fundraiser for FISH. Customers could simply
write a message on a heart and donate a minimum of
50 cents to FISH. R Grocery matched their donations.
The total combined donation to FISH was $467.30!
Thank you to all those who designated their United Way Dollars
to FISH. This resulted in $1944.44 from the 2015 United Way
General Campaign.
FISH Supporters shopping on-line at Amazon designated a
portion of the purchases’ prices to FISH, which earned
$20.99. This may not seem like much, but with this
money we can purchase 90 pounds of beef, chicken or
pork at the Akron Canton FoodBank...WOW!
Other Donations:
 Seven volunteers from Walsh University and Canton Central Catholic High School helped with
Spring Cleaning of the pantry.
 Dr. Gabe Russo and Dr. Schikowski gave toothbrushes and toothpaste to distribute to all members of clients’ families during February - Dental Health Month
 ACME Fresh Market donated $710.51 as a result of the recent Community Cash Back program.
Thanks to everyone that donated their register receipts to FISH!
