Some suggestions on how
to use our wish lists...
Lead a “drive.”
Make up flyers with the important information, such as what you are collecting, when the
drive will end, where the container for collection is located, and, of course, for whom you
are collecting. You can use the entire list or break it down into a particular category such as
paper goods, toys, hygiene products, etc. We have simplified this list down into specific
categories and can e-mail you copies of these lists if you wish.
Have a party!
Have the price of admission be an item from the Wish List.
“Adopt” us!
Each month, or every other month, or twice a year – whatever you decide – bring items
from a specific category. Example: April could be hygiene products month, June could be
paper goods month, August could be school supplies month, etc.
Caring Kits
These are pre-made kits to help our kids have everything they need for different situations,
such as the the “Goodnight Bag” the “Coping Skills Bag,” or the “Family Surival Kit.” See our
Caring Kits list for more information.
Get our tots ready “to go.”
Our foster care agency would like to send infant/toddler “to go” totes home with families
who receive an emergency placement. You can put together bags with diapers, wipes,
baby food, formula, blanket, a change of clothes (gender neutral), etc.
Thank you for your willingness to help us! If we can be of any help to you or answer any
questions, please do not hesitate to call us at (480) 969-2308! Ask for Community Relations.
We always accept new or very gently used children’s items at our Shelter. If coming to the
Shelter is inconvenient, there are also donation drop locations throughout the Valley.
For a list of locations, please visit our website or call.

Caring Kits
Placement Pack
When a child moves into a new foster home, it’s
important to them to bring their “own” items. Fill
a small plastic container with hygiene items*,
socks, underwear, school supplies* and/or small
toys. Kids also love to have their own watch,
jewelry, hair accessories, sunglasses, flashlight,
etc. Organize your boxes by gender and age
(infant, toddler, 6-8 years old, 9-12 years old or
teen).
School Starter Stuff *
Send students to school with the right stuff. Fill a
sturdy backpack with a lunch box, children’s
scissors, crayons, spiral notebook, pencils, sharpies
and pens.
Hygiene Kit*
The name says it all. Fill a small acrylic box with
body wash or bar soap (wrapped), shampoo &
conditioner, lotion, deodorant, toothbrush,
toothpaste and dental floss – all can be travel size.
To Go Totes
Our foster care program likes to send “To Go
Totes” home with families who receive an
infant/toddler emergency placement. Fill a diaper
bag with diapers, wipes, baby food, formula, a
blanket and a change of clothes (gender neutral).
Coping Skill Bag (ages4-6)
Coping Skills help kids deal with negative feelings
in a positive way. Fill a cloth, drawstring bag (large
enough to fit a coloring book) with some of the
following: colored pencils, crayons, coloring book,
bubbles, 1 can of play dough, 25 piece puzzle or
foam tile puzzle or small “fuzzy velvet” coloring
poster.
Parent Survival Kit
Humor is essential when parenting, so we like to
give those attending our parenting class a little
something to keep their spirits up. Make a few kits
by placing the following items in paper lunch
sacks: cotton ball, paper clip, piece of rope, rubber
band, small clock, 1 puzzle piece, small bag of nuts.
Brush Box
With so many heads of hair to style, we like to
keep our necessities organized. Grab a small
acrylic box and add a child’s comb, brush, and
travel size shampoo & conditioner to it. You can
even include barrettes for girls! We are also
always in great need of ethnic hair products such
as, Motions Hair Therapy & BB Super Grow Crème.
Good Night Bag
Ensure a restful night’s sleep by filling a new
pillowcase with pajamas, socks and a book.
Family Support Basket
Help support the families we serve by providing a
large basket or bin with adult & children’s
toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, brush &
comb, large blanket, grocery store gift card and a
family friendly book or game.
Birthday Box
Every child deserves a memorable birthday! Help
by placing cake mix, icing, candles, party favors
and balloons
into got
a giftplenty,
bag.
We’ve
thanks!
Coping Skill Bag (ages 7-12)
Coping Skills help kids deal with negative feelings
in a positive way. Fill a cloth, drawstring bag (large
enough to fit a coloring book) with some of the
following: colored pencils, crayons, coloring book,
1 can of play dough, 75-100 piece puzzle, small
“fuzzy velvet” coloring poster, bubble bath soap or
a journal & pen.
THANK YOU!
