t is with great excitement that I welcome all of you on behalf of the entire Brunswick
County Home Builders Association to the 2015 Brunswick County Parade of Homes.
This year promises to be one of the best Parade’s to date and we are looking forward
to sharing these incredible homes with all of you.
The extremely talented group of builders featured in this year’s Parade of Homes have
worked all year to put together incredible homes featuring cutting edge technology,
innovative details and energy efficient designs to meet and exceed your expectations.
There is something for everyone ranging from semi-custom homes to high end luxury
homes. Styles range from traditional to contemporary and everything in between.
Homes will feature exquisite trim work, gorgeous cabinetry, delightful floor plans, energy
star designs, and professional designed interiors. The chef inspired kitchens will leave you
feeling ready to cook gourmet meals. Outdoor living areas are amazing this year so make
sure you spend time exploring these increasingly popular spaces.

James Drive. Take first right into the Reserve onto Ridge Crest
Drive. Go approximately ½ mile and take left onto Worthington

to round-about. Take first right into Cottage Lakes. Take first left
onto Kingston Ct. 4274 will be on right.
Continue on Moss Hammock Wynd to the end. At stop sign
turn left onto Oceanic. Stay on Oceanic passed Seaside Pool
on left and continue to round-about. At the round-about take
second street exit onto Pine Forest Drive to Woodlands. Proceed
to the second round-about and take first street exit to Parkridge
Drive. 2737 Parkridge Drive is on the right before the bridge.

Go back to stop sign on East Legacy Park; go straight and take
left onto Traditions Court 4021 will be on the left.
3239 Moss Hammock Wynd
3239 is on right side of street across from 3238.
3563 East Legacy Park
Go back on Harbormaster to St. James Drive. Take right onto St.
James Drive and go .7miles to round-about. Continue around
the circle to second right to continue on St. James Drive. Stay on
St. James Drive for approximately 2 more miles to Legacy Park
entrance on left. Take left onto Legacy Park Drive and first right
onto East Legacy Park Drive. 3563 will be on the right.
3003 Aston
Go back on Emerson; take right onto Essex; Stay left and turn
left at stop sign onto Moss Hammock Wynd. Take second left
onto Aston Lane. 3003 will be on left near the end of the Aston
Lane loop that comes back into Moss Hammock Wynd.

Continue on Wingfoot to end; bear right onto Fairway Village
Rd. At stop sign take left onto Members Club Blvd and take to
stop sign. At stop sign turn right onto St. James Drive. Continue
on St. James Drive passed the clubhouse on left and over the
bridge. Take immediate right after bridge onto Trailwood Drive.
Take Trailwood to end. Turn right onto St. James Drive and first
left onto Harbormaster. 2754 will be on right.
Go back on Bancroft toward club house, take first right onto
Wyndmere. Pass clubhouse and take first left onto Bridgewater
Drive. Go .3 miles; 3717 will be on left.

Go to stop sign at corner and take left onto Hemlock. Follow
to Parkridge and take a right. Continue on Parkridge, cross the
bridge and go back to the round-about. Take first right off of
the round-about onto Morningdale Drive. Take first left onto
Wingfoot. 3696 will be on right.
3832 Bancroft Place
Go back to Ridge Crest. Turn left onto Ridge Crest and proceed
to end. At stop sign take a left onto Wyndmere. Continue passed
clubhouse on left and take first left onto Bancroft Place. Go ½
mile, 3832 Bancroft will be on left.

To Exit St. James Plantation:
Return to the round-about take first street exit to the Players
Club gate. Once through gate continue to stop sign at route 211.
Right goes to Southport; left goes to Supply.

From Stoney Point Drive turn left back onto Shelmore Way,
turn left onto Low Country Blvd., turn left onto Cross Water

The Brantley Kitchen
As part of a whole house interior renovation, our clients’ most pressing need was a more spacious, updated
kitchen within the existing house structure. Their goals for this area of their home were to gain additional cabinet
and counter space, improved task lighting, more efficient appliance footprint, and a beautiful kitchen. We were
able to accomplish all of their goals and more! Loads of cabinet space with ceiling high cabinets and better
utilization of wall space. Clear, white light emits from LED fixtures throughout plus undercabinet task lighting. Elegant
verde peacock granite and stainless steel appliances sparkle in the optimized layout. The sliding glass doors
between the kitchen/dining area and sunroom were replaced with custom glass barn doors, which allows the
dining area to be shifted to the sunroom. This new dining room location feels like a private dining area with great
outdoor views while still part of the kitchen and living spaces. The breakfast bar in the kitchen was enlarged for
enhanced storage and serving areas. Our dog-loving and daily beach walking clients desired flooring that was pet
friendly, sand tolerant, and gorgeous--we used wood plank style luxury vinyl tile throughout the house in a driftwood
color to support all these requirements. The Brantleys tell us at every opportunity how much they “love it!”

Take a “Peak”
This renovation started as a simple garage door replacement project and quickly expanded to include a new
roof and skylights, new doors and windows with impact resistant glass, and replacement of all siding and exterior
trim. All measures were taken to eliminate exterior maintenance for our homeowner so he can enjoy a restful retreat
when vacationing here.
Water damage was present at every window and door and at most corners of the cedar clad structure. Impact
resistant windows and doors and prefinished siding and exterior trim were installed for protection and for energy
efficiency. Faux garage doors were replaced with tall overhead doors to allow vehicle access to the garages.
All decking is new around the house. The former chimney was repurposed to enclose a TV/entertainment cabinet
that opens to the rear deck. A tiki bar was added on the ground level with an operable window for entertaining.
Low voltage lighting in the landscaping around the house highlights the beauty of each detail of this well-planned
renovation.

The Coastal Retreat
Prior to the purchase of this Holden Beach West cottage, the new owners were already making plans for a
renovation project that would make this place their home away from home.
The exterior of the house was stripped of two layers of siding, and all windows & doors were replaced. The
decks were removed and replaced with new framing, decking, and vinyl handrails. The new roof, siding, rails, and
custom trim brought this 1980s construction into 2015 with style and charm.
The interior of the home was stripped to drywall and studs. New cabinetry, plumbing & electrical fixtures were
added and accented by the 2/3 bead board wainscot and custom carpentry and trim work. Character grade
maple flooring was used in the larger portion of the house with ceramic tiles in the bathrooms and laundry. Final
accents included the use of subway tiles for the kitchen backsplash and custom tile shower with glass surround in
the master bath. But the greatest improvement of all is the custom island with a granite top. This kitchen island has
enough room for the family to gather and share a meal & stories from another day at Holden Beach.

Valerie’s Vision
Our client had a distinct vision to turn their dated condo into a modern day beach getaway. We started
by removing the popcorn ceiling texture throughout and replacing it with a smooth, white painted, sheetrock
finish. All interior walls got a new light blue paint finish to bring a relaxed feel. All the flooring was removed (mainly
carpet), and replaced with an updated oversized tile that was brick-laid. The Kitchen and Bathroom cabinet
doors and drawers were changed from a raised panel style to a sleeker looking flat panel painted white. We left
the cabinet boxes in place refinishing them to match the new doors and drawers. The Formica and cultured
marble countertops were removed, and replaced with quartz in the Kitchen and Bathrooms. New matching
custom tile showers were added in both bathrooms with frameless shower doors. The light fixtures, ceiling fans,
bath hardware, appliances, and plumbing fixtures were replaced throughout with contemporary alternatives.
Lastly, we added a glass tile Kitchen backsplash that matches the view of the sea on the other side of the room.

Lighthouse Lookout
The Bell’s purchased an adjacent lot in hopes of creating an outdoor entertainment area for family and
friends. They came back to their original home builder and licensed landscape contractor J. Satterwhite
Bldr. Inc. With their many friends, family, and grandchildren who like to visit, additional parking was
needed.
They had several areas of focus to incorporate into their cozy retreat, a fire pit, covered patio with an
outdoor kitchen, lighthouse storage building, for which the design was centered, post lighting for general
illumination, and stone paver walkways enclosed by decorative metal fencing with stone column post
lights at the main entry gate. Now they will be able to enjoy beautiful weather while making lasting
memories with friends and family.

The Lindsey Project
The Lindsay Project was a huge undertaking. The original home was built several years ago, and the
architecture was dated to that time. Mr. Lindsay needed more livable space and wanted to keep the original
feel of the home while creating a modern appeal. In achieving his desires, our company removed the existing
roof from the middle section of the home which removed eight dormers and one chimney. We constructed
a second floor and relocated the existing stairway from the back of the home to an open stairwell in the front
interior living room. The new additional level consisted of a family room along with two large bedrooms and two
full baths. The attic space rafters were spray foamed for temperature control. We installed molding and a fresh
coat of paint throughout the home. Impact glass windows and doors were utilized in the remodel of this home.
Our company added a deck on the back of the addition across rear of home. We constructed a rear porch
off existing master bedroom and extended the front porch. All of the gables were given overhangs and metal
accent pieces were added over the new front door and returns.
A new roof was installed with 40 year architectural shingles. Stucco was installed on the home including the
upstairs addition. Pavers were installed creating an inviting sidewalk and porch to the front of the home. On the
rear of the home, the existing pool was screened creating an oasis to escape from the daily routine.

The Kelly Porch Enclosure
Originally the back porch on the new home the Kelly’s were building was to be 8 ft. X 16 ft., have a shed style
roof and concrete pad floor. Midway through construction they realized they wanted a larger, more finished
enclosed porch. The builder, while unable to alter the plans at that point, did agree to expand the concrete pad.
The Kelly’s then contracted with WindowZ, Inc. to create their desired enclosure. Once the exterior of the home
was completed work began on the porch. The existing shed roof was extended and changed to a gable style.
While the flat ceiling in the original 8 X16 space was retained, the new section was constructed with an open
cathedral ceiling and finished to match. Once the new roof was completed the expanded porch was framed
and enclosed with PGT EzeBreeze™ panels and screens and a cabana door to provide easy access to their grill
area. A 1/2 round window in the gable peak gives the room an elegant feel and provides extra light. The ceiling
fan and light and a ceramic tile floor complete the finished look of the room.
Now the Kelly’s have a beautiful space they can enjoy year round with protection from sun, pollen and bugs.
And when they want to enjoy the breeze, they simply open the panels, essentially creating a screened in porch.
