standard and deluxe rooms to family rooms and suites. Our
rooms feature a modern warm and simplistic design where you
can experience the exquisite landscape through a large window

FOSSHOTEL GLACIER LAGOON

Glacier lagoon
The hotel's name is derived from the famous Glacier
lagoon, located on the edge of Breiðarmerkurjökull,
only 20 minutes northeast of the hotel. The lagoon
has made a name for itself as one of Europe's greatest
natural phenomenon. The lagoon is a footprint of
warming climate where large bricks of ice are breaking
of this outlet of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier,
and finding their way into the lagoon.
Skaftafell
Skaftafell is located in Vatnajökull National Park, only
20 minutes northwest of Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon.
It is the home to some of the most cherished natural
wonders of Iceland. Svartifoss waterfall is probably
one of the most popular sighting in the park and only
about a half an hour hike away from Skaftafellsstofa.
The scenic landscape, the rugged mountains and
hiking trails in all difficulty levels make Skaftafell
the perfect place for those who want to be in
harmony with nature.
