CANDIDATE-SUBMITTED BIOGRAPHIES
MARC FAVREAU
Marc Favreau was raised in Kanata and currently lives in Bridlewood with his wife Julie and new
born baby Nathan. He has a background working in politics at both the provincial and federal levels
– bringing together people of disparate backgrounds and viewpoints. Marc attended the Earl of
March Secondary School and began his high school activism working for such causes as Ontario
Students Against Impaired Driving (OSAID). While attending Carleton University, Marc was a
member of the Carleton University Student Association and Chair of the New University
Government, a student group that promoted student participation on university wide committees.
Following his graduation, Marc worked for the Millennium Bureau of Canada, working with
community groups to mark the millennium. Since then, Marc has worked in various federal
departments and is currently a manager at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, responsible for
executive level committees and executive decision-making in the Agency.
Marc has been active on a number of political campaigns within his community and beyond. He
started his municipal political activity as a volunteer on Alex Munter’s campaign for city council
followed by working with Marianne Wilkinson on her provincial campaign. At the federal level, Marc
worked on provincial tour events for a prime minister, worked for a federal Environment Minister and
also worked on a federal leadership campaign. This experience gave him some insight into the
differences and similarities between communities and how to build support toward a common goal.
Over the years, Marc has been an active supporter of various community groups and events in
Kanata and Ottawa. Marc is currently a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kanata Branch and
the Bridlewood Community Association.
