A Celebration
Of The Life Of
Leroy Whittaker
FariFest presents:
A CELEBRATION OF LIGHT AMID THE
GLOOM
The life and contributions of murdered community activist and Rastafarian, Leroy Whittaker, will be celebratedwith a dinner and danceat 2213 Dufferin St on July 11, 2015 between
4-8pm. July is also the tenth anniversary of his tragic death.
Leroy Whittaker was known throughout the Lawrence Heights neighbourhood for his community leadership, religious dedication and generosity of heart. Every summer, he hosted a
community barbecue to which all were invited, to share a meal and come together in a spirit
of peace and harmony.
His commitment to the Rastafarian faith and the Ethiopian Orthodox Church inspired his
numerous community initiatives, including the founding of the All-Fari soccer club in 1999.
In July, 2005 a bullet ripped through the peephole of his apartment door in the Lawrence
Heights area, fatally wounding the father of seven. His ten-year-old step son called 911.
The police concluded that Leroy was not the intended target and have expressed regret that,
ten years later, no arrest has been made.
The senseless murder galvanized his community, sparking demonstrations and inspiring musical and creative tributes, as well as an annual memorial by Whittaker’s family and friends.
Even though his death still remains a mystery, his family still remembershim with high
spirits. “I Love my uncle” says Iam, his young nephew, who was just 5 at the time of Leroy’s
passing.“He was always kind to me”.
“He always made me smile, even though he was a serious person,”remembers his sister, Jackie.
“The First Memorial Leroy Whittaker Dinner and Entertainment event is designed to honour
his contributions and achievements in the community,” explains his niece, Sasha.
The celebration ofLeroy’s life will take place at 2213 Dufferin St on July 11, 2015between
4-8pm. It is a ticketed event, and seats are limited, though everyone is welcome.
Tickets are available by calling 416-305-8852 / 647-745-3353. A website was created for Leroy
at www.allfari.com where everyone can learn more about Leroy Whittaker.
Funds raised at this event will go towards purchasing and installing a Memorial Bench at the
site where Leroy now rests.
The event is produced by FariFest, a full-service video, web development and event Production Company.
For more information about this event, call 647-745-3353 orvisithttp://www.farifest.com

Despite 6000 years of records of human history
as an empirical guide to inform leaders in the
twenty-first century, global equity, and lasting
peace and harmony among nations, religions,
races and cultures elude humanity. The recurring
power imbalances in the world, technological,
social, and economic, have become a threat to
human survival as a viable species. The observable decline in spiritual leadership (qualitative
deficit) is responsible for a “universal” decline in
international peace and harmony. Greed, hoarding of strategic resources, the accumulation of
superfluous wealth, and the spread of violence
among nations underpin this “universal” decline
in spirituality. An increase in spirituality would
place humanity on a progressive, authentic and
sustainable path as a viable species.
Errol Gibbs
PHILOSOPHICALLY
SPEAKING
By: Errol Gibbs
SPIRITUALITY – A PRE-REQUISITE
FOR GLOBAL LEADERSHIP
IN THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY
Our twenty-first century is emerging as a “Century of Discontent” with leaders of religion, education, politics and military, and this discontent is
spreading rapidly throughout the world. Over the
past century, the world has experienced exponential growth in world religions, academia, science
and technology, space exploration, medical research and great financial and material wealth. At
the same time, the world is experiencing exponential growth in global humanitarian and peace
organizations. To the intellectual observer the
twenty-first century should blossom into a new
era of high civilization with social and economic
equity, technological empathy, peace and prosperity, and fairness and justice. Essentially, this
new paragon of leadership should consign wars,
and ‘humanly caused’ and ‘humanly inspired’
suffering to history.
Despite exponential growth in science and technology (www.Scientific.net), human intelligence,
world religions, and financial and material wealth,
human beings lack the capacity to build and
sustain great civilizations. The reason for this
incapacity is a lack of understanding that we are
spiritual beings, living temporarily in physical
bodies, and that our primary need is spiritual. In
a Christian context, spirituality is not synonymous
with religion.
It connotes the connection between the human
spirit and God’s Spirit. In practical terms, it is a
demonstration of “the Fruit of the Spirit”, which
is an extension of God’s love (agape) exercised towards others, such as: love, joy, peace,
patience (longsuffering), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self–control
(Galatians 5: 22–23, New King James Version
(NKJV)).
These spiritual attributes empower leaders and
create a barrier to the path that leads to enslavement, colonization, apartheid, genocide
and wars underpinned by a “secular worldview”. The great divisions among nations result
from our desire for mastery over money, wealth
and power, control over natural resources,
and legal, social and economic advantage
over peoples and nations. These same human
conditions have wrought havoc in the ancient
world. They confront leaders in the twenty-first
century with a resounding message that history repeats itself. The image attempts to alert
the reader to the exponential growth in human
knowledge, in science and technology, militarism, and world religions as spirituality (“Fruit
of the Spirit”) ebbs.
The need for spiritual interconnectedness begins and ends life’s trajectory (pre-mortal, mortal and immortal). The emptiness that flows
from a lack of higher purpose is a higher call
for spirituality that only a life imbued by the
Spirit can satisfy. The search for spirituality has
perplexed every religion from tribal systems to
the most sophisticated mono–and polytheistic
religions of our modern world. It is the way to
find meaning, purpose, hope, comfort, inner
peace, happiness, joy and security. Spirituality
is a pre-requisite for enlightened global leadership, but it is imperative to differentiate between Spiritual enlightenment that comes from
God versus Age of Enlightenment described by
post–medieval times (or simply the Enlightenment, or Age of Reason) (1620 – 1789).
National self-interest has become the leadership
guide in our twenty-first century, evidenced by
tens of thousands of human laws, underpinned
by a “secular worldview” that guarantees the
ruling elites maintain a permanent social and
economic power imbalance.
A dominant “secular worldview” rejects any
notion of a “Christian worldview” as the path
to world peace and harmony. Paradoxically,
when something goes wrong in society, there
is an immediate call for the “sword” (human
authority) and the “Bible” (God’s authority),
but with God’s authority a remote consideration.
A major global challenge to leadership is
the need to achieve a balanced perspective
informed by the Triad Colossi (1) God (Spiritual Intelligence (SI)), (2) Man (Human Intelligence (HI)), and (3) Machine (Artificial
Intelligence (AI)). These three belief systems
must be congruent. Spiritual Intelligence
(SI) enables Human Intelligence. Similarly,
Human Intelligence (HI) enables Artificial
Intelligence (AI) in machines. Higher Spiritual Intelligence (SI) imbues the human mind
for discernment and decision making, when
faith, belief, and practice are congruent.
Machines (robots and cobots (collaborate robots)) are designed to work in collaboration
with human co–workers to serve the needs
of humans. (MIT Technology Review, Computing News, Will Knight April 23, 2014).
The paradox of this advancing need for new
technologies (Artificial Intelligence (AI)) to
evolve the information age is its overshadowing of the critical need for Spirituality to
underpin humanity. Spiritual progress, the
most important form of progress lags behind,
when compared to scientific progress. The
challenge is that some machines are approaching godlike characteristics (an ironic
perspective), for instance, military drones
are becoming omnipotent (all powerful),
omnipresent (all places) and omniscient (all
knowing) — digitally speaking.
International and national leaders no longer serve nor lead on behalf of the people.
Democracy is becoming a doubled edged
sword for many, with great prosperity on the
one hand, and great fear, hunger, poverty,
homelessness and disenfranchisement on the
other hand. Global leaders no longer view
the people they serve as sovereign. GENEVA,
June 20, 2014 (UNHCR) – “The UN refugee
agency reported today on World Refugee Day
that the number of refugees, asylum-seekers
and internally displaced people worldwide
has, for the first time in the post-World War
II era, exceeded 50 million people”.
Whenever something goes wrong within a
nation, between or among nations, there is an
immediate call for more authority. This ‘authoritarian worldview’ diverts resources, and
financial and human capital away from important investments to improve the human
condition (spiritual, moral, social, intellectual
and physical). Have we found hope, peace
and security on an authoritarian path? Have
we found it in higher levels of expenditures
by militarizing the world? “World military
expenditure in 2014 was an estimated $1776
billion” (http://www.sipri.org/research/armaments/milex).
Have we found hope, peace and security in
political authority, the authority of the modern church, in great world religions, or in our
gods? Have we found it in modern education
or academia? Modern education has provided humanity with a “materially driven life”,
which is emerging as a threat to the “Spiritual
purpose” of human existence as a viable species. Have we found hope, peace and security
in secular universities or global peace organizations?
Have we found it in political authority or by incarcerating
approx. 11 million individuals (World Prison Population
List (Sixth Edition))?
Have we found it in peace pacts, peace treaties, peace
marches or in civil rebellion? What, then, is the basis
of authority upon which all of human civilization must
rely for hope, peace and security? The basis of authority
lies within the Word of God. “Unless the LORD builds
the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the
LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain”
(Psalm 127:1 NKJV). When we adopt this basic premise,
only then will a new world of reforms spring forth and
lead to the creation of national and international peace
and harmony and the lives of fulfillment that we crave.
Ancient
Secrets Africa
& Christianity
Never Told
The great city of Nineveh in the Old Testament, cited in
the book of Jonah (circa 767 BCE) received God’s gift of
mercy. “Then word came to the King of Nineveh; and
he rose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered
himself in sackcloth and sat in ashes, and decreed: “let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that
is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent,
and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not
perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from
their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He
had said that He would bring upon them, and He did not
do it” (Jonah 3:5-10 NKJV).
We have relegated the management of God’s creation
and His created beings to the elites in religion, politics,
academia, and the military, though it is only the sum total
of human knowledge that will provide a way forward.
Paradoxically, empirical evidence demonstrates that ‘war’
instead of ‘peace’, ‘insecurity’ instead of ‘security’, and
the breakdown in human relations grow exponentially
alongside gross national and international expenditures in
the trillions of dollars in armaments and security apparatus worldwide. Ernie Regehr (1980): “We are dealing here
with the issues of life and death for humankind”. Where
are the voices of the great religious leaders to bring God’s
revelation to global leaders? God gives His assurance:
“if My people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from
their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14
NKJV).

What can you find in this
amazing book Africans
Who Wrote The Bible?
Americans and Europeans assume that the
Bible is about them, but the Bible is about my
ancient ancestors and me…..Alex Darkwah
Modern-day Jews see the Bible as a record of
their history because the King James Bible is
centered on the history of Israel.
The Jewish people of Europe and America still
carry African Tribal names. They carry the
names of their ancestors who were Africans.
Statistically, the Lemba people from Southeast
Africa are more Jewish than European Jews.
In a particular Lemba Clan known as the Buba
Clan, 53 percent of the males carry the unique
DNA signature of Jewish priests. Males form
the Lemba Tribe carry a higher incidence of
the Jewish priestly DNA signature than the
European and American Jewish population.
When the police have the fingerprints of a
wanted man, they know the man whose prints
match. The same thing can be said here.
The early Roman Catholic Church portrayed
Jesus and his mother in the original Black
images of the Jewish people at that time--The
Black Madonna. What African tribe were they
from?
Scene from King Tutankhamun’s
tomb
The time period of the early Catholic Church
is closer to the Jews leaving Africa and going
to Europe than the Renaissance Painters who
painted Jesus White.
What Europe did not count on was that Africans would still know their past. Darkwah
states that ancient Egypt was geographically
in Africa and that so called European experts
do not know the Ancient Egyptian story
because they are not familiar with African
tribal names. They do not have the linguistic
and cultural backgrounds to identify Egyptian
names and have simply transposed the African
names of people and places in Ancient Egyptian history into European languages to make
it possible for them to claim expertise. Darkwah traces the ancient past of African tribes
from the Middle East through Ancient Egypt
to inner Africa. He reveals the African tribe
that historians gave the fictitious names the
Sumerians, Akkadians, and the African Tribes
that were the Ancient Egyptians.

EARLY SEX
EDUCATION
A NO NO!
Miriam Grossman, MD, author of the
recently-released You’re
teaching my child what? A physician
exposes the lies of sex education and
how they spread false propoganda.
I
f you think sex education is still about the birds and the bees, you’re wrong. And it’s not about
science either. If you’re a parent with children in the public school system, you need to know
what’s really going on.In You’re Teaching My Child What? Dr. Miriam Grossman rips back the
curtain on sex education today, exposing a sordid truth. Instead of teaching our children the facts
of life, sex educators are lying to them, ignoring medical fact in favor of politicized, and dangerous, propaganda that could ruin your child’s life forever. In You’re Teaching My Child What?
you’ll learn what sex educators don’t want you to know:
* Why the discredited founder of “sexology”—dead for half a century—has more influence on sex
education than today’s most eminent neurobiologists
* How information your child gets about common infections like herpes, warts, and Chlamydia is
whitewashed
* When “safe sex” isn’t safe: why condoms won’t protect your teens from some of the most serious
sexually transmitted diseases
* How sex educators try to normalize fringe behaviors—ignoring the health risks to your children
The sex education establishment would like to lull you into thinking that they know best—but the
epidemic of sexually transmitted infections in young people today is testimony to a system that’s
gone mad.
The sex education establishment claim to promote sexual health, we fi nd, overall, little
encouragement of restraint or self-discipline. Instead, students are informed that at
any age, sexual freedom is a ‘right’.
Most resources have one-liners such as “abstaining from sexual contact is the surest
way to avoid infection,” or “for all STDs, abstinence is the best protection.” But these
messages are like postscripts or disclaimers, and delaying sexual activity until
adulthood is not presented as a viable alternative with considerable rewards.
We cannot rely on an adolescent’s consistent ability to ‘use their heads’, because this
skill is still under construction. Neuropsychology says teens are not ready for sexual
relationships. Sex education must say the same thing.
It is our conclusion that the sexuality education programmes that have been
reviewed are seriously fl awed, with both sins of commission, and sins of omission.
The information is not accurate, comprehensive, or up-to-date. Sex is seen as
risky only when it’s ‘unprotected’. The effi cacy of condoms is overstated, in some
cases vastly so. The quantitative data about their use is absent. The vulnerability of
the immature cervix and the hazards of anal intercourse are omitted. Chlamydia
is incorrectly described as ‘easily cured’. Young people are led to believe that sex
is easily divorced from emotional attachment. Worst of all, critical life and death
information is distorted or ignored.
Students are left misinformed, and with a false sense of security. Surely this is the last
thing we want.
We cannot expect teens to delay sexual activity while instructing them, “only you
know when you’re ready”. It is the nature of adolescence to feel ‘ready’ for just
about anything.

New Study Shows
That Racism Is Very
Much Alive And Well!
This bias extends beyond race to perceived privilege, as well: people tend to think that a broken leg
hurts a lot less for a street kid in a drug-ravaged
neighborhood than it does for a kid in the suburbs
whose biggest hardship thus far was getting an
iPhone 6 a week after launch day.
Furthermore, doctors are twice as likely to marginalize and misdiagnose painful symptoms in black
patients than in any other ethnicity. That is, a black
person may tell their doctor they’re experiencing
a pain level of 8, but the doctor will record it as a
4 to adjust for the Herculean pain sensors it has
been randomly decided that black people possess.
Having a reputation as a badass becomes a huge
negative when even doctors don’t believe how much
pain you’re in.
25% of College Professors
Favor White Males Over
Everyone
T
oday, the white and colored drinking
fountains have gone, the protests have calmed,
and the fists have lowered. But herein lays the
quandary of our generation. We do not bear
witness to the enforced racism of years past.
Instead, we are a generation blessed in our
comfort. Our culture emphasizes the image of
equality when it lacks in substance, and there
now remains a broken bond between those
who suffer racism and those who assume its
extinction.
Indeed, we have made great strides, strides
that uproot history and set precedent beyond
our borders. But equality by law should not be
the last step, but the first step. Today, there are
much fewer justified acts of racism to suffice
our conscience of its existence. Thus, we must
change as racism changes. As racial hostility
turns to neglect, we must recognize that racism permeates our culture in elusive ways that
are blind to those who wish to be blinded, but
stifling still to those who cannot escape it.
We must confront our complacency in an era
no longer segregated by law, but by economics. We must recognize that racism is alive but
elusive? Silent in most cases, but still strong.
We cannot allow the media’s desire for the
impression of tolerance to betray the problems that still linger, and we cannot allow the
once celebrated remedies for racial injustice to
become the bastard children of a reluctant, neglectful government. In today’s racial environment, we cannot afford to stay comatose to the
silent curses of racism simply because we need
not remind ourselves anymore when seated on
a bus or drinking at a fountain.
A big part of the issue with racism is that they
tend to be discussed as this thing that used to
be a big problem once but now it’s TOTALLY
SOLVED, yay us, go team, everyone go high
five.
The narrative I think a lot of people are told (at
least when we’re kids in history class) is that
we *used* to have a problem with racism, with
slavery and then segregation and bus boycotts
and such, but then we learned our lesson and
we realized what fools we were! We changed
the laws! Everyone suddenly stopped being
racist! Thank God all of that foolishness is
over with!
And yet the reality is that it hasn’t even been
50 years since the Voting Rights Act was
passed. Tons of people are still alive that were
around for the civil rights movement, and
opposition to it. Do we really think that the
people who viciously opposed the civil rights
movement stopped being racist the second the
Voting Rights Act passed? Or that they didn’t
pass any of those thoughts on to their kids?
The reality is racism is layered in every frabic
of our society, Its comming from a white is
good black is bad mentality, Countless thoudsnds of people bleach their skin because they
have been hypnotise to feel bad about being
dark or think they will be easier accepted in
society. Every Race deserves the right to live
and love who and what they are. Good and bad
people exist in every race and now a days its
best to judge people on their own individual
merits.
Shooting Game Simulation
Shows People Are Much
Quicker to Shoot Black Men
In case you have spent your adult life avoiding
all forms of news media, the shooting of unarmed black citizens is a huge, urgent issue in
modern-day America. To put it in numbers: black
teenagers are 21 times more likely to be killed
by a cop than white ones. And while there are no
doubt lots of reasons why this happens -- arrest
procedures, training issues, etc. -- science says
that at heart we’re all just more afraid of black
people. Mostly on a subconscious level -- which,
in fact, is where most prejudice happens.
Joshua Correll, a researcher at the University
of Colorado Boulder, developed a web-based
game that puts the player in the role of a police
officer who randomly encounters a series of
black and white men -- some armed and some
holding objects like wallets, cellphones, and
Slurpees (but holding them aggressively). The
player is then given a short amount of time to
decide whether or not to. You already can guess
the result. When presented with a black subject,
players had a much itchier trigger finger -- even
if the object held by said subject was something
decidedly nonlethal, like a flashlight or some
other non dangerous item. By contrast, they took
much longer to decide whether the white subjects
presented an immediate danger, even when the
subject was obviously holding a handgun. Now,
here’s the kicker: results were similar across the
board, regardless of whether the players were
white, black, young, or old.
The above seems to combine two basic false beliefs: that black people are more likely to have evil
intentions and that it takes a more immediate and
violent response to stop them.
What you may find is what science already
knows: being open-minded and tolerant takes
effort and consideration. When put under stress
and made to make a split-second decision, we
tend to fall back on old knee-jerk deeply implanted impulses created by years of conditioning.
Most Whites Cannot Feel Black
Peoples Pain
Researchers decided to test the racial empathy
gap, which suggests that people are unable to empathize with pain in people of different races. A
series of experiments showed that white subjects’
palms began to sweat uncontrollably when they
were forced to watch a white person’s skin get
prodded with a needle. Conversely, when watching the needle come into contact with black skin,
they sweated less -- meaning that they didn’t “feel
the pain” as much when seeing it inflicted on a
black person. This potentially goes a long way in
explaining why the survival rate for every nonwhite character in a horror movie hovers somewhere between 10 percent.
Another study asked participants to rate how much
pain they would experience from everyday occurrences, such as stubbing a toe or getting shampoo in
their eye, as compared to another randomly selected
black or white subject. The participants overwhelmingly rated the same injuries as being more painful
for white people. Even nurses assumed that common
injuries cause more pain in white people.
A group of researchers led by Katherine Milkman
at the University of Pennsylvania wanted to see
if professors responded differently to unsolicited
emails reaching out for mentorships, depending on
whether said request came from Todd Stevenson,
Jenny Bluth, or Lamar McPersonofcolorston. After
emailing more than 6,500 professors at the top
250 schools in the country, they found that names
that sounded like they belonged to minorities and
women were as much as 25 percent less likely to get
a positive reply than white-sounding male names,
such as Channing Butterworth.
Other than the names of the senders, the messages
were completely identical. They were all some variation of, simply, “I’m a big admirer of your work, and
I am considering a PhD in your field. Would you
kindly take 10 minutes to meet with me?”
the biggest disparities happened among professors
in private universities and in fields that are very
lucrative, such as engineering and the sciences. The
stats on business schools were the worst, which
pretty much coincides with the rich, white, boys
club we all picture big business to be.What was
surprising was that, again, the professor’s race, gender, and department had no bearing on the snubs
-- the fictional white male sounding names were
heavily favored above everyone else. So, if you’re a
college hopeful looking to earn a PhD with the help
of a mentor in your chosen field, the best advice
we can offer is to change your name to Channing
Butterworth. Regardless of the race or gender of
the person at the other end, chances are they’ll
(consciously or subconsciously) decide you’re more
deserving of their time.
People Are Willing To Pay
Blacks Less For The Same Service.
Airbnb an online website similar to eBay operates
on the basis of trust. Every host has a detailed profile that includes a photograph, reviews from past
hosts or guests, and recommendations from friends.
It’s basically Facebook, if Facebook included an
open invitation for strangers on the Internet to sleep
in your guest bed for hundreds of dollars a week.
However, research shows that people, regardless
of skin color, tend to find white faces more trustworthy than black faces. This is especially true
when money is involved: people are willing to take
bigger financial risks with a stranger if the stranger
looks more like Randy Quaid than Denzel Washington.
This helps explain the results of a recent study by
two professors at Harvard Business School examining the differences between what white and black
hosts charge for rooms on Airbnb. The professors
canvassed every New York City listing on the site
and found that white hosts were able to charge 12
percent more than black hosts for near-identical
rooms in practically the same location
The difference in price is greater in neighborhoods
that people think of as unsafe -- suggesting that
rooms in less desirable areas offered for rent by
white hosts are seen as safe havens in unsafe neighborhoods, while those from black hosts are perceived as being about on par with the Thunderbird
Motel in terms of likelihood of being murdered in a
late-night invasion. Despite the fact that the rooms
in question are virtually identical, people would apparently rather sleep in their cars than pay a black
host the same amount as a white host on Airbnb
website.
And that’s the thing -- you’d like to think that in
the cold, cruel world of business, only the bottom
line (money) matters.
Why say no to a paying customer, regardless of
race? But think about everything you’ve read up to
now: in a world where people are afraid of (or at
least, unnerved by) black folks, you might figure
it’s bad business to rent to them if it means scaring
away your other customers. It’s kind of like how
supposedly liberal Hollywood is careful not to cast
too many black actors in a movie, for fear it will
scare away white audiences. Even if you’re not
racist, you might wind up running your business on
the assumption that other people are. This allows
the whole cycle to continue.

The Great City Timbuktu
By the

As Yet?
Timbuktu, city of gold, ancient centre of learning, is
slowly turning to dust. The Sahara desert is stifling
life, but residents know the blame lies not only with
natural forces. Timbuktu is teetering on the edge of
existence also because of human neglect, war and
greed. Under-development and corruption are the
co-conspirators of desertification. The city is not
only garrisoned physically, it is mentally sanded in.
T
Timbuktu’s Great Mosque
imbuktu was a thriving center of scholarship instrumental to the spread of Islam in Africa. It retains
three notable mosques and one of the world’s great
collections of ancient manuscripts.
The history books say Timbuktu boasted 25,000
students in its heyday, having established one of the
world’s earliest universities in the 12th century.
These days, visitors arrive mostly from the south.
Garrisoned in rebel territory ever since it was seized
and occupied in 2012-13 by secessionists and Islamists linked to Al-Qaida, the city is a dangerous
600 mile drive north-east of Mali’s capital, Bamako.
A Niger riverboat runs for the three navigable
months of the year. Journalists are advised to travel
with the United Nations on its daily flight into the
city. No planes are open to the Malian public.
Meet KanKan Mansa Musa I of
Mali – the richest human being in
all history.
A combination of awe and wealth built fabulous
mosques and intellectual vibrancy. In the 19th
century, European explorers died trying to get here.
Timbuktu became lodged in the collective imagination as a place so extraordinary that it might not
exist at all.
Fourteenth Century Italian Map of West Africa
With an inflation adjusted fortune of $400 billion, Mansa Musa I would have been
considerably richer than the world’s current richest man, Carlos Slim, who ranks in
22nd place with a relatively paltry $68 billion.
The list, compiled by the Celebrity Net Worth website, ranks the world’s 24 richest
people of all time. The list advertises itself as the top 25, but 26 names appear in the
list.
The list uses the annual 2199.6 per cent rate of inflation to adjust historic fortunes
– a formula that means $100 million in 1913 would be equal to £2.299.63 billion
today.
Mansa Musa I ruled West Africa’s Malian Empire in the early 1300s, Many
mosques he built as a young man still stand today.
Accompanied by thousands of richly dressed servants and supporters Musa made
generous donations to the poor and to charitable organizations as well as the rulers
of the lands his entourage crossed.
Mansa Musa was a very rich African king. He was said to have more than 500
people with him on the hajj (pligtimage)to Meca each carrying a staff of solid gold.
When Mansa Musa passed through the Egyptian city of Cairo, legends say he gave
away so much gold that the price of gold fell, and the economy was affected for
more than twenty years. The appearance of a wealthy king from a faraway land
made a deep impression on the people he encountered, causing Mali to appear on
maps throughout the Middle East and Europe. For the first time, sub-Saharan Africa became well known north of the Sahara Desert.
This West African city—long synonymous with the
uttermost end of the Earth—was added to the World
Heritage List in 1988, many centuries after its apex.
Timbuktu was a center of Islamic scholarship under
several African empires, home to a 25,000-student
university and other madrasahs that served as wellsprings for the spread of Islam throughout Africa
from the 13th to 16th centuries. Sacred Muslim
texts, in bound editions, were carried great distances
to Timbuktu for the use of eminent scholars from
Cairo, Baghdad, Persia, and elsewhere who were in
residence at the city. The great teachings of Islam,
from astronomy and mathematics to medicine and
law, were collected and produced here in several
hundred thousand manuscripts. Many of them
remain, though in precarious condition, to form a
priceless written record of African history.

KanKan Mansa Musa
Mansa Musa, fourteenth century emperor of the Mali
Empire, is the African ruler most known to the world
outside Africa.
When we think of the world’s all-time richest people,
names like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and John D
Rockefeller immediately come to mind.
But few would have thought, or even heard of, Mansa
Musa I of Mali – the obscure 14th century African
king who was today named the richest person in all
history.
The mosque at Timbuktu built by Mansa Musa was the heart of the kingdom of
Mali. The empire of Mali expanded after the fall of Ghana, reaching its height under
the rule of Kankan Musa (c. 1312-1327 C.E.). Many monumental mosques were
constructed during the reign of Mansa Kankan Musa who is still remembered as a
great African Islamic ruler.
Mansa Musa’s pilgrimage boosted Islamic education in Mali by adding mosques,
libraries, and universities. The awareness of Musa by other Islamic leaders brought
increased commerce and scholars, poets, and artisans, making Timbuktu one of the
leading cities in the Islamic world during the time when the most advanced nations from Spain to central India were Muslim. Timbuktu was clearly the center of
Islamic Sub-Saharan Africa.
After Mansa Musa I death in 1331, however, his heirs were unable to hang on to the
fortune, and it was substantially depleted by civil wars and invading armies.
Killing Of Clementa Pinckney Was A
Targeted Assination
T
he killing Of Rev. Clementa Pinckney
is being labeled a random hate crime but I
believe he was purposely targeted for assignation.
It is just too convenient for a man that is so
highly profiled a Senator, a black activist well
loved and very influential to call this just a
random hate crime. The shooter could have
chosen any other church in South Carolina
but just happened to choose this one. Some
one wanted to get this man out of the way and
that is what they did.
Rev. Clementa Pinckney
In a sermon delivered at a YWCA event in late
April entitled “Requiem on Racism,” Pinckney
said that love alone could end racism. “Irregardless of our faiths, our ethnicities, where
we are from, together we come in love,” he
said. “Together we come to bury racism, to
bury bigotry, and to resurrect and revive love,
compassion, and tenderness.”
Pinckney, 41, was the pastor at Emanuel African
Methodist Episcopal Church, one of the oldest African-American houses of worship in the country.
Pinckney, together with the Rev. Al Sharpton, led a
prayer vigil for Walter Scott, an unarmed black man
shot by white police officer Michael Slager in Charleston in April. In response to Scott’s killing, Pinckney
pushed the state legislature to require police officers
to wear body cameras. “Body cameras help to record
what happens,” a local NBC news affiliate reported
Pinckney as saying in May. “It may not be the golden
ticket, the golden egg, the end-all-fix-all, but it helps
to paint a picture of what happens during a police
stop.”
A married father of two, Pinckney was elected to
the state house at age 23 in 1997, making him the
youngest member of the house at the time. “I think
my age is an advantage: I’m not set in my ways and
not set in old ways,” Pinckney told The Post and
Courier, a local newspaper, after his election to the
state senate in 2001. “Just like slavery needed to die
out, old ideas need to die out. Being young allows
me to be open-minded.”
Pinckney was a “man that really influenced all walks
of life,” Belanger told Al Jazeera. “He was able to bring
people together at a grassroots level and at the same
time, in his political status and position he held in the
state and in the government, he was and was able to
bring all parties together.”
Mr. Pinckney was an impassioned advocate for human
rights. As a state senator he campaigned for legislation
requiring members of the police force to wear body
cameras.
He had recently been seeking to raise awareness about
gun violence against African-American men and had
led a rally after Walter L. Scott, an unarmed black man,
was shot and killed by a white police officer in North
Charleston, S.C.
He had also been campaigning on behalf of Hillary
Rodham Clinton for the Democratic nomination for
president.
The Rev. Joseph Darby of Beaufort African Methodist
Episcopal Church told MSNBC that Mr. Pinckney was
a courageous man. “He was a very caring and competent pastor and he was a very brave man,” he said. “And
brave men sometimes die very difficult deaths.”

Amazing Discoverey
200,000 Thousand Year Old
City Found in South Africa
S
omething amazing has been discovered in an
area of South Africa, about 150 miles inland, west
of the port of Maputo. It is the remains of a huge
metropolis that measures, in conservative estimates,
about 1500 square miles. It’s part of an even larger
community that is about 10,000 square miles and
appears to have been constructed -- are you ready -from 160,000 to 200,000 BCE!
The image [top of page] is a close-up view of just
a few hundred meters of the landscape taken from
google-earth. The region is somewhat remote and
the “circles” have often been encountered by local
farmers who assumed they were made by some indigenous people in the past. But, oddly, no one ever
bothered to inquire about who could have made
them or how old they were.
This changed when researcher and author, Michael
Tellinger, teamed up with Johan Heine, a local fireman and pilot who had been looking at these ruins
from his years flying over the region. Heine had the
unique advantage to see the number and extent of
these strange stone foundations and knew that their
significance was not being appreciated.
Ruins mostly consist of stone circles.
“I see myself as a fairly open-minded chap but I will
admit that it took me well over a year for the penny
to drop, and for me to realise that we are actually
dealing with the oldest structures ever built by humans on Earth.
The main reason for this is that we have been taught
that nothing of significance has ever come from
southern Africa. That the powerful civilizations all
emerged in Sumeria and Egypt and other places.
We are told that until the settlement of the BANTU
people from the north, which was supposed to have
started sometime in the 12th century AD, this part
of the world was filled by hunter gatherers and socalled Bushmen, who did not make any major contributions in technology or civilization.” -- Tellinger
Where it was found
The individual ruins mostly consist of stone circles.
Most have been buried in the sand and are only
observable by satellite or aircraft. Some have been
exposed when the changing climate has blown the
sand away, revealing the walls and foundations.

Looking at the entire metropolis, it becomes obvious that this was a well planned community, developed by a highly evolved civilization. The number of
ancient gold mines suggests the reason for the community being in this location. We find roads -- some

evidence we have accumulated points unquestionably to a lost and never-before-seen civilization
that predates all others -- not by just a few hundred
years, or a few thousand years... but many thousands of years. These discoveries are so staggering
that they will not be easily digested by the mainstream historical and archaeological fraternity,
as we have already experienced. It will require a
complete paradigm shift in how we view our human history”. -- Tellinger
The area is significant for one striking thing -- gold.
“The thousands of ancient gold mines discovered
over the past 500 years, points to a vanished civilization that lived and dug for gold in this part of the
world for thousands of years,” says Tellinger. “And if
this is in fact the cradle of humankind, we may be
looking at the activities of the oldest civilization on
Earth.”
