Minecraft Game Hints
Have you ever played Minecraft? If you have or planning
to, then here are some helpful
hints so you can survive the
night! First, find a mountain
side. Then, you dig an L shaped
area for your house. Find some
wood and make a crafting table.
Then, make a wooden pickaxe.
You can do this by making 1
stick. After that you can mine
some cobblestone. Next, you
can make a furnace and a
stonecutter. Last, but not least,
you need a bed. You can make
one by finding two sheep and
harvesting them to get two
pieces of wool. If you need more
wood, go fetch some. Then
make a bed on the crafting table. By Sarah

Butterscotch Haystacks
Ingredients:
Materials:
Chow mien noodles
Pan
Miniature marshmallows
Wax paper
Creamy peanut butter
Butterscotch flavored Morsels
Step 1: Get 1 2/3 cups of butterscotch-flavored chocolate morsels and
melt them using a microwave or stovetop. Once the morsels have melted, add ¾ cup of creamy peanut butter. Mix until well blended.
Step 2: Put the mixture in a large bowl. Add 3½ cups of marshmallows and 1 or 2 cans of chow mien noodles in a large bowl. When all of
the ingredients are in the bowl, toss it like a salad until everything is
coated. One great thing about this recipe is that you can eat them cold
or hot. (You might be already eating them now.) Another great thing
about this recipe is that it only takes 10 minutes to make this recipe.
Once everything is coated, get a baking sheet and line it with wax paper.
Step 3: Get a spoonful of the butterscotch haystacks and put on the
wax paper. Refrigerate your haystacks for one hour. Enjoy your butterscotch haystacks.

Ding Dong Long Hong!
By: Erick
There once was a house deep in the city of Sounds. The reason it was called
Sounds was because at least 3 times a week mysterious sounds could be heard
throughout the city. It sounded like Ding Dong Drong Hong. This city was also
an odd city. The people there were shapes. There was a young cube named Cuby.
Cuby was not a fan of the sounds, especially when they spoke very deeply. They
would usually start around1:00 in the afternoon and last into the afternoon, but
ever so rarely you would hear them at 6:00. Some people heard the sounds, some
didn’t. If you didn’t hear the sounds you were considered lucky. One day Cuby
was walking back from school and he heard a weird sound that no one had ever
heard, “Ding Dong Long Hong, Ding Dong Long Hong, Ding Dong Long
Hong”. He was so scared, he fell over. The next day at school everyone covered
their ears. Cuby didn’t. He heard nothing. For one hour a screeching sound was
heard by his friends and teachers. Still nothing. Silence for him. He looked out of
the window that night and he saw it. His favorite video game coming to life. “This
is impossible!” he thought. Then everything became pitch black. He saw nothing,
until he saw CAKE! As far as the eye could see, CAKE. Suddenly, he woke up in
his bed. It was all just a bad dream. But it was his entire life in his dream. How
could it be? Was it real? No! He thought, “No, No, NOOO!”

Minecraft Diamonds
How to find diamonds in all versions!
Do you like playing Minecraft? Want to know how to find diamonds in all versions? I’ve got the solution for you. First, you
need to staircase or dig down. But of course never dig down in
Minecraft, unless you’re in creative. Then you can do that. You
need to be at Y: 12 – Y: 9 because Y: 8 is the end of diamond level.
Once you are at that level, you can start strip mining. If you can’t
find any diamonds in your strip mine, skip 2 blocks and mine on
the third and then start strip mining. Remember, you can always
find diamonds at level 12-9 and you can always find a cave at diamond level. My last piece of advice is, you can always find diamonds near lava. Hope these tips help you find lots of diamonds.
Here are some additional tips to help you in you in Minecraft:
#1: Enchant your sword to fire aspect, so that way you can get
cooked meat right away!
#2: When you are digging up, place a torch beneath you just in
case sand or gravel fall on you.
#3: When you’re mining, place your torch on one side so you can
find your way home.
#4: If you don’t need something and you want to throw it away,
get a cactus and throw it in there. It makes it disappear faster.

Last week I went on an awesome trip with my family to Washington D.C. The best part was that it was spring time, which means that
the cherry blossoms were in bloom and they were having the Cherry
Blossom Parade! Our favorite monuments or memorials were the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, and the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Memorial. They were all amazing! What’s your favorite Memorial in Washington, D.C.?
Woohoo! That’s the sound of the crowd cheering at the multicolored floats in the Cherry Blossom Parade! Have you ever seen the
parade? It lasts more than 9 hours! After a while, we parked along the
East Avenue Drive. It was lined with tons of beautiful pink and white
cherry blossoms. We got a pamphlet and a map from a nice park ranger. I looked at the map and we all decided to go to the Washington
Monument. Once we got there, I looked up at the towering 555.5 foot
tall monument in honor of our 1st president. My mouth dropped open
at all the American flags surrounding it. I’ll be the first to admit, it
looked like a giant sharpened pencil! My dad said it was called an obelisk. I was reading the inscription that was engraved in the marble.
My eyes almost popped out of my head because the memorial was built
50 years after his death, so he never saw his own Monument! When I
was done reading the inscription, I almost burst into tears. He did so
much for our country!
Finally, we looked at the map. We went left to the Lincoln Memorial. I looked up and saw an entire row of states; they were engraved in
marble at the top! I read the passage and thought it was interesting
that his left hand is in a fist. That represents him doing what was right
for our country during the Civil War. His right hand is open because he
forgave people. Although it is true, it said he was the first president to
be assassinated! When I followed his eyes, he was looking through
Washington’s Monument, all the way to Ulysses S. Grant’s Monument.
It is so cool that they put him on the penny and the $5 bill!
After that, we went to the Martin Luther King Memorial. It said
he was a pastor, a leader, and he participated in the Civil Rights Movement. When I looked closer at the way they carved him in the stone, it
looked like he was the stone himself. My dad says it shows his strength
during his fight for African Americans. He even delivered his famous “I
have a dream speech”
on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
To wrap it all up, my trip to Washington D.C. over spring break
was an awesome and exciting experience. The monuments and memorials that I visited were unforgettable. Some of my favorite memorials or
monuments were the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument,
and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. Everyone should experience
all the sites that Washington, D.C. has to offer! If you haven’t, talk to
your parents. It’s a trip you don’t want to miss out on!

Topic: My 1st School Dance
Ok, so once upon a time New Castle had
school dances. The first one I ever went to
was when I was in 1st grade. It was call the

split the dance floor into grades. I had to
chill with the Kindergarten, 1st grade (of
course) and the 2nd graders, while the fun was
with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. While the 3rd,
4th, and 5th graders were doing the Train
Lines, Macarena, Cha-cha Slide, and the Cupid Shuffle I , me and the younger
kids……..we just ate pizza and got a sugar
rush. Then, we all ran around like crazy. Never the less, it was pretty fun. So that was the
story of my first unforgettable school dance

How to Do Redstone in Minecraft
by Erick
Redstone can be very difficult but can also be easy. I
am going to explain to you how to make a Redstone
contraption. I will tell you how to make some-
thing pop out of a dispenser. To begin, make a
dispenser with cobblestone, 1 bow and arrow,
and 1 Redstone dust. Place down at least 4-5
pieces of Redstone dust. (It depends on how
long you want the contraption to last). Next,
make a lever or a button for the source. Lever,
1 cobblestone, stick and button is 1 smooth
stone. Melt the cobblestone in the furnace for
smooth stone. Place the dispenser at the end of
the Redstone wire and place a block in the dispenser. Switch the lever or push the button for
it to start. Good luck.

It was an eerie and stormy afternoon. The school doors were abruptly
closed and the windows left open. The winds blew through and gave a shivering
chill. All students were gone except two twins named Lela and Alex. They
were staying after school for show auditions, but nobody was there. “Where are
all the people?” Alex said trembling. “I don’t know, even the judges aren’t
here” Lela said with a quivering voice. Suddenly they saw two shadows appear.
“WHAT was that?” Alex bellowed tensely. The shadows moved closer and closer towards the twins. “AHHHHHH!” Lela shrieked. “RUNNNNNN!!” said Alex.
As the twins were running, the shadows were gliding swiftly behind them. The
twins turned a corner and were suddenly imprisoned by the shadows. More and
more shadows came toward them, soon they were enclosed. As they covered
their alarmed faces……..
