Oct. 1979 Daelim Industrial Co., Ltd. starts up the first naphtha cracking center (NCC 1); Hanwha Chemical Corp.
completes its new plants at Yeochun.
Jul. 1986
Daelim Industrial starts up a styrene monomer plant.
Nov. 1989 Daelim Industrial completes NCC 2.

All Yeochun NCC facilities including Korea’s largest ethylene production system and
every process from production to loading are linked to an online network for optimal
efficiency. The company continues to invest in order to stay ahead of the

INNOVATION AT WORK, EVERYDAY
Yeochun NCC operates‘ the Quality Assurance/R&D Team ’in order to develop
technology needed at production sites. Their R&D results are quickly applied in the
workplace, improving processes, raising productivity, enhancing operational stability
and elevating product quality.
Our annual budget for R&D is a top priority to ensure that the company can
research heaters and catalysts, turn byproducts into value-added commercial items,
and devise new processes. We focus on developing proprietary technology while
breaking new ground on the technology frontier that will shape the future of the
petrochemical industry.

Major Environmental Activities
The KSA/ISO 14001 certification is received for environmental management (1996).
The company joins the Responsible Care (RC) program.
*RC is a voluntary international ESH program for chemical producers, covering all business activities: product development, production, sale,
distribution, use, and disposal.
An advanced environmental management system is adapted, and strict pollution prevention regulations are
followed voluntarily.
The life cycle assessment (LCA) program is adopted.
A telemetric system(TMS) is installed to monitor pollution emissions and help prevent accidents.
The latest wastewater treatment system is started up.

Our top priorities remain environmental preservation as well as human safety and health. Our
integrated EQSH management program systematically implements activities for preventing
accidents. A strict and scientific environmental, safety and health policy is also in effect, and
every effort is made to ensure that the workplace stays safe and the world remains clean.
Major Safety Activities
The KGS18001/OHSAS 18001 certification is received for worker safety and health (2004).
The process safety management system and risk-based inspections are adopted as part of a determined effort
to eliminate life and property losses.
Preventative safety is enhances with the installation of an advanced accident prevention system.
A worker health management system is adopted that classifies employees by work risk level and age;
the work environment is assessed regularly.
Noise levels are managed according to a new noise map.
