CIVIL WAR DAY
5TH GRADE
As a culmination to our social studies
American history focus, fifth
graders traveled back to the 1860's
with Civil War reenactors. They
enjoyed presentations from a field
surgeon, a battlefield nurse, and a
cavalry soldier on his horse. Harriet
Tubman showed up and told us about
her experience of leading over 300
slaves to freedom. The day ended
with a bang as the artillery officers
fired off the cannon. Many thanks to
those who spent the day with us!
