Marais Penthouse
Marais Penthouse
Exceptional 3-BR / 2-BA with Terrace
Description
There are apartments and then there are apartments.
This penthouse in the Marais is so light and airy and modern; it seems to defy gravity, like a rocket ship
of luxury. There isn’t a false angle, or overlooked detail in the magnificent space.
From 360 degrees rooftop views, to the drawer pulls in the kitchen, no vision of the exemplary has been
spared.
The Penthouse, five rooms split between two floors, is accessible from street level by elevator. For
security, the entrance is protected by code, and has an intercom to the interior.
The first of two levels features the gleaming kitchen with blonde woods cabinets, high- end appliances
and all the cookware and utensils the finest cook could ever desire. An elegant dining room is adjacent
to the kitchen and has a spectacular curved-base art deco table for eight. It is visually distinguished from
the kitchen by modern ceiling-mounted screens that provide privacy and artful detail.
The living room is divided into two sitting areas, one with a desk and sofa, the other with four large club
chairs and bright yellow couch, a tasteful pop of color in this sophisticated space. The entire room is
balcony accessible, washing the room in glorious light and views of the city.
Three bedrooms upstairs are accessed by a marvelous spiral staircase, its perforated metal treads
casting dappled shadows on the curved walls in a most playful way.
The first air-conditioned bedroom has a double bed and private luxury bathroom with soaking tub and
walk-in shower. It also has a large closet for clothing and luggage storage.
The second bedroom, with wide plank, blonde wood floor, has two single beds that can be joined to
form a king. It also has a large closet and a charming balcony.
The third bedroom has a single bed, with tucked away trundle, for an additional guest. Its wall of built-in
cabinetry makes this small bedroom exceptional and very accommodating. A built in desk also adds to
its charm.
The additional bathroom on this floor is stunning with blue glass counter tops and large square tiles –
it’s a design marvel. The deep soaking tub will impress, as will its bright angled window and built-in
shelves.
With so much to marvel over in this exquisite apartment, it’s almost impossible to say that its most
impressive feature is its outdoor space. But the entire roof is dedicated to just that. Accessed through an
automated, octagonal portal, the roof deck is decadent pleasure manifest. With modern long chairs, and
its own glorious dining space, all of Paris can be seen from this perch in the sky.
Though the siren call of Paris will surely lure you away, you could be easily tempted to remain in the
beautiful surrounds of this most exclusive retreat.
Location
The Marais is one of the most ancient and picturesque parts of Paris, characterized by its unique 17th
century buildings and elegant stores and restaurants.
For visitors who wish to explore Paris on foot, this is an excellent point from which to do so.
From your doorstep, in around 5 minutes on foot you are also at the Seine River, crossing onto the
Islands to visit Notre Dame and the Ile Saint-Louis. All major attractions in the center of Paris are thus
within walking distance.
At the corner of the street is a beautiful little boulangerie (bakery) where you can buy those fantastic
croissants and baguettes and nearby is a grocery store. Every Thursdays and Sundays, for those who
love typical French markets you can walk within 5 minutes to Bastille market where all beautiful fresh
vegetables, fruit, fish and spices can be found.
Also if you are very lucky you will see in the street the national guards riding their horses around the
area once a week.
In the very close neighborhood is a very French little restaurant called “Le temps des Cerises” were the
owners, a very nice couple will make you taste French food and wines.
As a matter of fact this restaurant is often used to shoot films.
At a walking distance you have the Bastille Opera as well as the Seine that you can walk along to Ile Saint
Louis.
If you have any interest in art, you have plenty of little galleries and workshops where you can buy
exquisite gifts.
You are also at a walking distance of Place des Vosges and of all those beautiful museums: Carnavalet,
Cognac-Jay, Archives Nationales and so many others.
On top of everything, and it is rather rare in the center of Paris, this is a very quiet street offering still all
the advantages of Paris within a walking distance.
