May 2014
Meeting Tuesday, May 13, 2014 7:00 p.m.
Our guest speaker is Dennis Delgado, a Bronx Council on the Arts BRIO (Bronx Recognizes Its Own) winner for sculpture.
Mr. Delgado is interested in an art work's ability to explore or bring to life the colonial past of a location. His work also reflects
his own life, investigating how the cultural exchanges between Spanish, English and African ancestries have shaped the present
moment.
He will give a talk about the Bronx Zoo, its architecture and cultural history as well as its present-day exhibitions and
relationships to other institutions and localities.
This promises to be a very interesting presentation.
