Itinerary
Day 1: Bogota
On arrival in Bogota you will be welcomed by your local guide, who will
join you on the transfer to your hotel. After a chance to relax and freshen
up, your first evening in the Colombian capital is then at leisure,
affording a chance to acclimatise to one of the largest cities in Latin
America.
Day 2: Bogota
A full day tour of the city begins in La Candelaria, Bogota's colonial centre. Filled with a stunning array of
Spanish baroque architecture, this historic quarter reflects the country's rich cultural heritage. Later you'll visit
the Gold Museum, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Hispanic gold, as well as the renowned Botero
Gallery, which showcases the work of Colombia's most famous artist. Finally, a cable car up to the monastery
at Monserrat offers some breathtaking views before an early afternoon lunch at El Son de los Grillos. (B,L)
Day 3: Bogota - Coffee Zone
A short flight into Colombia's rural heartland is followed by a transfer on
to a beautifully located hacienda, your home for the next three nights.
Once you've settled in to your idyllic surroundings, you can spend the
afternoon soaking up the spectacular panoramas and enjoying some of
the finest coffee in the world. (B)
Day 4: Coffee Zone
This morning you'll travel out to the Valle de Cocora to see the towering wax palm, Colombia's national tree,
which can reach heights of some 60 metres. On arrival you'll head out into the surrounding cloud forest on
foot or on horseback, to immerse yourself in a world of richly varied flora and fauna. A latte-art activity at Cafe
Jesus Martin is followed by lunch, before continuing some 10 kilometres to the charming towns of Salento and
Filandia, where you can sample the regional atmosphere and the local spirits before returning to the hotel.

Day 5: Coffee Zone
Your full day premium coffee tour begins with a visit to Cafe San Alberto, one of the best fincas in the region.
Here you'll learn everything that you need to know about the aromatic world of coffee. You'll be taught how to
recognise quality and learn why this area is renowned for producing such a variety of excellent coffees, before
ending the tour with a chance to taste some of the finished product. The day also includes a visit to a
botanical garden and lunch at a local ranch restaurant. (B,L)
Day 6: Coffee Zone - Tayrona National Park
Today you will fly on to Santa Marta and the stunning landscapes of
northern Colombia's Caribbean region. Flying via Bogota, on arrival you
will be transferred the short distance to the lush wilderness of the
Tayrona National Park, sandwiched between rich, dense jungle that
teems with wildlife and the glittering waters of the Caribbean Sea. (B)
Day 7: Tayrona National Park
Today you will head into the foothills of the world's highest coastal mountain range. In the company of a local
guide, you'll take in the stirring landscapes of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Mountains, heading towards
Minca with its famous waterfall and abundant birdlife. These remote mountains ranges are home to some 440
species of birds including Andean condors, Santa Marta parakeets and king vultures. After the tour you will be
returned to your hotel in Tayrona. (B,L)
Day 8: Tayrona National Park
Tayrona is home to some of the finest beaches in the country, set amongst wide bays and palm fringed forest,
against a backdrop of rugged mountains. Today is an opportunity to enjoy them at your leisure. (B)
Day 9: Tayrona National Park - Providencia
You will be transferred back to Santa Marta today, to take a flight on to
San Andrés, via Bogota. On arrival in this Caribbean paradise, you'll
then take a short connecting flight on to the more exclusive and isolated
island of Providencia. Here you will find an uninhabited haven of white
sand beaches, fringed by palm trees and turquoise waters, set against
an idyllic tableau of mangroves, lagoons and tropical dry forests. (B)
Day 10: Providencia
Lying midway between Costa Rica and Jamaica, Providencia is part of an archipelago that was once used as
a base by the notorious pirate, Henry Morgan. This tranquil island is home to coral reefs, small cayes and a
sizeable population of black land crabs. Part of a UNESCO marine protected area, it can also boast some of
the greatest marine biodiversity on earth. (B)
Day 11: Providencia
Day at leisure to enjoy your island paradise - snorkel, explore the nearby cayes, or just relax at the beach. (B)

Day 13: Providencia - Cartagena
Fly back to San Andrés today, to connect with a direct flight on to
Cartagena. On arrival a private transfer will take you to your hotel, lying
within the walls of this historic colonial city. (B)
Day 14: Cartagena
Cartagena's colonial centre and fortress is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and this morning you
will have a guided tour of some of its highlights, beginning with the Castillo San Felipe, the largest Spanish
fortification in the Americas. Continuing on to the Convento La Popa, the highest point in the city, you'll then
enjoy some commanding views across the bay, before returning to the city. This evening you will then enjoy a
romantic horse and carriage tour through the charming streets of the old town. (B)
Day 15: Cartagena
Day at leisure to enjoy this charming city. (B)
Day 16: Cartagena - Bogota
Today you will be collected from your hotel and transferred back to Cartagena airport for your flight to Bogota.
