In October 2005 Agoria, the Belgian federation for the technology industry,
and the Belgian Olympic Interfederal Committee (BOIC) have established
the Belgian SportsTechnology Club.
The Belgian SportsTechnology Club is a network of experienced Belgian
companies who have been the technical partners of organising committees
of major international sporting events in the past. To name just a few : the
Olympic Games in Atlanta, Nagano, Sydney, Salt Lake City, Athens and
Torino; the Asian Games in Bussan and Doha; the FIFA World Cup in
France, Korea/Japan and in Germany, the Tour de France, the Superbowl,
and many other internationally renowned happenings.
The companies of the Belgian SportsTechnology Club understand the
complex challenge of staging such events and are therefore eager to share
their know-how and experience with you and provide some of the products
and services necessary to deliver the ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ event that you
envision.

AGORIA
Agoria is the federation for the technology industry in Belgium.
It is Belgium’s largest employers’ organization and trade association,
representing 1 600 companies who together employ approximately
300 000 people.
Agoria has defined some key markets in which the Belgian companies in
the technology industry have particular strengths and can offer leading
solutions on a worldwide scale. One of these markets with substantial
potential is the market of the major international sporting events, and the
projects and investments related to it.
Although the athletes are and should be the centrepiece of any sports
event, it is the technology which makes it possible for them to perform in
the best possible conditions and to show it to the world. The technology
industry in Belgium has the know-how, experience and willingness to help
where it can through high-quality and innovative products and services.

Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC)
The Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC) is very pleased
for having developed a dynamic partnership with Agoria and the industrial
world of our country so as to characterize the members of the Belgian
SportsTechnology Club by organising committees of great national, but
essentially international, sports events.
There are yet now excellent examples of Belgian societies who have
given an extra value to the organising committees of the past Olympic
Games such as for instance Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Sydney, Athens and
Turin. On the basis of their technological know-how and the price-quality
proportion, many of these companies have all the trumps in their hands to
be even as successful in their services to the organisers of the coming
Olympic Games or other great world sports events.
Technology in sport has become so important for the Olympic athletes that
National Olympic Committees (NOCs), such as the BOIC, mostly
appreciate the efforts of these societies in the field of research, production
and management.
”Together to the top” is a goal we want, from within the BOIC, to pursuefully so as to allow our athletes and our societies to score with brilliant
results during the coming Olympic Games and World championships.
”You never win alone”, this adagio is also of application for the Belgian
SportsTechnology Club. Together with the governmental authorities, the
regions, the federations, and their members, the BOIC wants to go for
the result we all seek after : quality in performance.
