In order for the full flavor of Ebenezer to shine through,
we need YOU to be part of the ‘STEW’!
Welcome to ‘Stew’ Corner where you can find information about the Stewardship Committee and our
thoughts and plans for opportunities to help flavor Ebenezer’s ‘stew’. We are excited about the
opportunities and resources we have available to us at Ebenezer and believe that truly great things are
in store for the kingdom of God!!
Stewardship Thought for the Month:
Give God what’s right, not what’s left!
Upcoming and on-going opportunities to serve God through Ebenezer include the following:
Ebenezer 275th Anniversary Picnic on Saturday, May 30th from 2-8 PM.
There will be games,
food, live music and we will bury a time capsule! Henry Long’s band from Lehighton will play from 58PM. Mark your calendars - you don’t want to miss the fun!! Plans are underway, see any Stewardship
Committee member for ways you can join in!
Anniversary Donations to help defray expenses for the picnic and other anniversary events can be
made through the colored envelopes found at each entrance to the Sanctuary and placing it in the
offering plate . Thank you in advance for your help!!
A Time Capsule will be dug up and a new one buried as part of Ebenezer’s Anniversary Celebration.
We would like YOUR ideas as to what should be put in this time capsule. Look for the opportunity to
make suggestions elsewhere in this newsletter and in the Sanctuary/bulletins on Sunday mornings.
On Saturday, September 26th, Ebenezer will be hosting a Car Show from 10 AM to 4 PM. If you have a
car you would like to enter see Kevin Geist or just plan to come out and look!
Dinner and a Movie brought in $816.00!!
Thank you to ALL who helped in any way from planning
to food and raffle basket donations to serving, attending and helping to clean up. The money will go
into the general fund and also be used as some ‘seed’ money for anniversary events.
Just a reminder that e-giving is a convenient way to regularly give to the church!
Don’t forget to save your inkjet cartridges and to shop on Amazon Smile!! We
received another $31.21 from Amazon, generated by those of you who have shopped
on Amazon Smile – thank you!
Please refer to other events listed in this newsletter for additional ways to flavor
Ebenezer’s stew!!
If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to become part of the Stewardship Committee
please contact any one of the members:
Mike Bagenstose – [email protected]; 610-780-1225
Pam and Roger Delligatti – Pam - [email protected]; Roger - [email protected]; 484-6330813Nia Fratrik – [email protected]

Look for the colored envelopes at the entrances to the Sanctuary if you would like to help
defray costs for Ebenezer’s 275th Anniversary celebration this year. Some of the planned
activities include, picnic on May 30th, digging up and reburying of a time capsule, hotdog
roast and softball game.
Ebenezer UCC Anniversary Time Capsule Ideas
We’re excited to be celebrating Ebenezer’s 275th Anniversary this year and hope you are too!
Part of our Anniversary celebration involves digging up a time capsule and then burying a new
one. We’d like your suggestions as to what you think would be appropriate to put in the capsule
that is indicative of 2015. Please give your ideas to a Stewardship Committee member or Linda.
There will be slips available at church for this purpose as well. Thanks for your participation!!
http://smile.amazon.com/ch/23-1377884, that’s the link to use!! When you do your shopping on
Amazon. PLEASE sign on with this link, and Amazon will donate 0.5% of your eligible
purchases to Ebenezer. It’s the same products, prices and Amazon Prime benefits that you are
used to. It’s that easy!!! Keep this link handy when you go Amazon shopping!! We received an
additional $31.21 from Amazon since the beginning of the year. It only adds up if you use it and
it’s SO EASY!!
THANK YOU to all who helped and/or participated in ANY way with Dinner and a Movie. We were
able to raise $816 to be used in the general fund and as ‘seed’ money for Anniversary events.
Please note there will NOT be Nursery coverage on Easter Sunday so that all families can worship
together. Thank you to all who generously give of their time so that every other week is covered!

WHAT IS A PENNY PARTY
MARK YOUR CALENDARS – THE WOMEN OF THE CHURCH
ARE HAVING A PENNY PARTY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 18TH
Doors open at 12:00 noon and play begins at 1:00 p.m.
Kitchen will be open for light lunch items.
Come out and join in the fun.
 Purchase a bag of numbers for $1.00 at the door. Everyone in your family
will want to play, so we suggest buying a different bag of numbers for
each player.
 Select a seat at the maze of tables in our social hall.
 A tray will be passed around the tables. The tray will contain an item
marked with a price, a ticket container, and a money container.
DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING TO THE PARTY?
 The only thing you need to bring is your family and lots of pennies (or
purchase rolls of pennies at the door). If you wish, you can also bring
other change so you do not always have to count pennies. We’ll supply
the FUN!
HOW DO I WIN?
For example, a can of soup is marked two cents ($.02). If you would
like a chance to win the soup simply:
 Place one number ticket in the ticket container and two pennies in the
money container.
 If you would like 2 chances to win, simply put in 2 number tickets and 2
times the money or $.04.
 For 3 chances to win, use 3 tickets and 3 times the money, etc. Then pass
the tray to the next person.
 If you are not interested in an item, simply pass the tray along. Once the
tray has traveled through all the players, our staff will pull and
announce the winning ticket.
 Winning numbers will continue to be announced as the play continues.
