TULIP TIME FESTIVAL CONCERTS MAY, 2016 Beechwood Church 895 Ottawa Beach Road Holland, MI 49424 “With a Song in My Heart: A Night with Richard Rodgers” The music of Richard Rogers has become part and parcel of America with songs like “My Funny Valentine” and “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered”. And, no wonder! As the prolific composer of more than 900 songs and 43 musicals such as “Oklahoma!” and “Sound of Music”, Rodgers gave voice to a generation. You’ll want to sing along as the chorale celebrates a night with Richard Rogers. Artistic Director: Meredith Bowen In her fourth season with the Holland Chorale, conductor, teacher, and singer Meredith Bowen has led a wide variety of singers and students in Michigan since 2000. She has collaborated with multiple ensembles and organizations to create innovative programming. Bowen is an active guest clinician and conductor and enjoys working with a diverse population of singers. Currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting at Michigan State University, Bowen was recently selected as one of three conducting fellows from a national competition by Chorus America and was a finalist in the 2014 choral conducting award from The American Prize.
