Installing The System
RBW Industries, Inc. Room Expansion Systems
Installation/Service Guide For Models:
QDS-7009, QDS-7009-S, DCM-70
The Slideout System was designed to provide a mechanical source of horizontal
movement for RV slideout rooms. Please use the installation guidelines to
supplement your procedures and requirements.
Installing the slideout (DUAL SYSTEM):
1. With Cross Bar attached, temporarily attach the leader and follower to
both the coach floor and sidewall. (Fig “A”)
2. Use a large square to assure that the slideout rams are perpendicular to
sidewalls, parallel to coach floor and parallel to each other.
3. Once this has been verified, permanently attach to floor and sidewall.
4. Attach floor rollers flush to top of slideout rams.
5. Check to see that system is timed properly. Use sidewall edge as guide.
6. Back ends of slideout rams must be within 1/4 “ of each other, if not
remove bolt on Follower side on Cross Bar. Push gear and disengage
from slide gear rack. Move slide side to side to get proper timing,
reengage gear and reattach Cross Bar. (Fig “B”)

7. Attach slideout room to slideout rams.
8. Run unit in and out checking that room seals properly and that it runs
perpendicular to coach to avoid binding.
Installing optional motor DCM-70
Step 1.
Install drive gears by sliding them onto hex coupler. Make sure teeth
on both gears line up with one another.
Step 2.
Attach gearbox to mounting plate and secure with bolts provided.
Step 3.
Attach motor to mounting plate with three bolts and washers
provided.
Installing the support rail (Single Unit) :
1. Temporarily attach slideout unit to floor and sidewall.
2. Use a large square to assure slideout ram is perpendicular to sidewall and
parallel to coach floor.
3. Once this has been verified, permanently attach to floor and sidewall.
4. Place floor rollers so that they are flush to top of slideout ram.
5. Attach slideout room to slideout ram.

Extending the Slideout Mechanism
1. Park the RV and level it for stationary use.
2. Always be certain that there is plenty of clearance for your room to safely
extend to the full outward position.
3. Disengage any travel locks that are in place to keep the slideout room from
moving during travel.
4. Remove any other potential obstructions to room movement.
5. Attach handle provided to Manual Drive and turn clockwise
Retracting the Slideout Mechanism
1. Prepare the slideout room for retraction while the RV is still leveled.
2. Remove any potential obstructions to room movement.
3. Make certain that there is plenty of clearance in the coach to bring the room
to full retraction.
4. Attach handle provided to Manual Drive and turn counter clockwise.
5. Replace travel locks required to keep the room from moving during travel.

The RBW GSO-20000 series slide-outs are designed and intended for standard
room movement with a classic non flush room. Although individual RV
manufactures have recently been much more creative with conceiving of
variations to the RBW slide-out room design’s, RBW cannot contribute to or
induce these design variations. Our industry has been flooded with mechanism
and room design’s claiming to be subject to patent protection. Hence, we
encourage our customers to review patent’s on a regular basis so as to make an
informed determination as to how such patents may or may not relate to your
particular installation or design.
