Powerscender - Installation / Directions / Warnings
The Powerscender is used as an attachment to your tree climbing spurs, allowing the user to ascend on appropriate Tree Climbing Ropes (8-13mm) in
either a Doubled Rope System (Ddrt) or Stationary Rope System (Srt).
This device SHALL
NOT BE USED AS LIFE SUPPORT. Never rely on the Powerscender for primary life support, for its design is only as a tool to
aid in rope climbing at heights. Always inspect the Powerscender for structural defects before use. Practice using this tool "low and slow" before working
in the upper canopy of trees.
Installation: The Powerscender is designed to point towards the heel of your boot when installed. The climbing line will then be closest to your gaff on
ascent. Below are the bits to (U) Uninstall and (I) Install your new gaff screws for each spur manufacturer (preferably used in conjunction with a socket
wrench).

1) Remove two bolts that hold your gaff in position using the specified bit on a socket wrench.
2) Install Powerscender by placing the gaff in the Powerscender's hole configurations
3) Line the Powerscender plate and gaff with your climbing spurs, and thread 2 new screws (included) from the back of your spurs, into your
climbing gaff. You may use a thread sealant or loctite to make a semi-permanent connection.
4) Tighten bolts to spur manufacturers torque specifications. The Powerscender plate will bend and mold to your shank when properly tightened.
5) Powerscender is now ready for ascent.
6) Repeat steps 1-5 to mount the attachment point for the HAAS clip n' go or SAKA (Self advancing knee ascender). This will allow a smooth and easy to
use rope walking system with your spurs on. It is highly recommended that you wear gaff guards to protect yourself from accidental injury when using a
rope walking system with tree climbing spikes. Inspect and rotate rubber grommet in order to reduce wear on the aluminum plate if needed.
7) Enjoy!
