The Bahk of America Charitable Foundation recentlv announced that
$227,500 in grants were given to 20 Inland Empire nonprofit groups,
including some which serve residents of Fontana.
The nonprofits are focused on providing basic human services, such
as emergency shelter and access to food and benefits, to help Inland

Empire residents at their immediate point of need.
According to the nonprofits, these grants are estimated to impact
nearly 580,000 Inland Empire residents, with 1.00 percent of funds going
toward individuals and families with low to moderate income.
"Our philanthropic investments are one way that we at Bank of America are working to connect individuals in our community to the
resources they need to lead financially stable lives," said Al Arguello,
Inland Empire market president of Bank of America.
One of the beneficiaries was Inland Empire United Way, which will
use the grant funds to support the Kids Pack Program, which provides
weekend food for children.
Other nonprofits that received funding include: Catholic Charities
Riverside Counties, Children's Fund Incorporated,
Cove Communities Senior Association, Feeding America Riverside and
San Bernardino Counties, Foothill Family Shelter Inc., Olive Crest, Safe
Alternatives for Everyone Inc., Shelter Providers of Riverside Inc.,
Time for Change Foundation, United States Veterans Initiative, Victor
Valley Family Resource Center, Coachella Valley Rescue Mission,
Desert.AIDS Project, Food in Need of Distribution, Inc., Galilee Center,
Inc., Hidden Harvest Corporation, Martha's Village and Kitchen Inc.,
Mizell Senior Center of Palm Springs, and Palm Springs Film Festival.
