CORN COB CLEANING
Corn Cob is versatile,
economical, biodegradable, safe
and creates less dust than sand
or nut shells. Removes top coat
while preserving base and primer
coats.
• Corn Cob blasting media can be used safely around electrical equipment, hydraulic
systems, equipment and bearings without risk of damage or sparking.
• The natural cell structure of Corn Cob makes granules highly absorbent. The substance
removed is done expeditiously and the cleaning process is intensified.
•
Corn Cob media requires no masking, will not frost glass, pit aluminum or damage
sensitive gear and bearing surfaces. This dust-free, non-toxic blast media does not cause
health or environmental hazards.

Corn Cob Blast Media
Crushed corncob and corn cob blastings are made from the
woody ring portion of the corncob. This portion of the cob is
separated, dried, ground, air-cleaned, and then classified over
screens of various mesh sizes. They are available in granules
ranging from 1/4” to a fine powder.
Qualities of crushed corncob and corn cob blastings that make
them ideal for pressure blasting include its mild abrasiveness,
absorbency, and resilience to attrition.
