Hi Folks, as you know a lot happened during April with the Wildflower trip, Bluebonnet
Run and all the car shows. Kassy and I were booked every weekend and need a break
for a bit. So we unfortunately have to skip the May Club meeting for some R&R in Cabo
San Lucus but we will return in time for the Street Meet at Munday Chevrolet on the
12th.

SCC Corvettes & Crawfish
Speaking of the street meet; Stephanie has a corvette challenge with her Dealership to
get as many corvettes as possible to be there that night. The Munday Community is organizing a Military Care Packaging event on site and need our help and support. Bring
what you can so the boxes will be full for our troops overseas.
Big Thank You to Joe and Sue Chauffe for all their work putting together another Wildflower Trip; that kind of dedication is hard to come by and they are already scheduling
the next one. Also applaud Sam & Sue Riddle on organizing this years Bluebonnet Run.
I say this a lot but don’t get much feed back; if you have a place or event or restaurant
that you think the club would enjoy please present it to Jeb Jonas or one of the board
members to get it scheduled on the calendar. On the right you see picture of John
Brownlee holding his first Best of Show award received at the
Space City Corvettes show April 28th. I will have the write up and
pictures in the June newsletter but have to give Thanks to all the
SHCC members that attended the show which awarded us the
Club Participation Award.

NCM Raffle Winner
Big Congratulations to Dick Murphy for winning a 2012 Centennial Z06. His winning ticket was drawn on Jan 26, 2012. Dick picked it up April 18 then drove it straight home in
time to make the Bluebonnet Run that Saturday.

Sam Houston Spring Vette Show Recap

Wildflower Trip to Hill Country.
I believe we had 34 corvettes on this trip to
Kerrville. The weather was great all weekend and the wildflowers were the best I’ve seen in 10 years. Friday’s
ride took up to Marble Falls which is NW of Austin and lunch
at River City Grill on the water. Then a crooked line south to
Kerrville. After all checked in at the Inn of ‘course we had a
party in the hospitality room with pizza and a very serious
bingo game. Saturday’s mornings run was awesome out 16
then 337and 83 then back to the Inn around 1pm. Some
groups then went to Fredericksburg to eat and shop whiles
some just relaxed. The whole group then converged again
for dinner at Mamacita’s Restaurant in Kerrville then back to
the Inn of the Hills for socializing around the pool. After
checkout Sunday morning the trip continued to New Braunfels before heading back to Houston.

Bluebonnet Run to New Braunfels hosted by Sam & Sue Riddle. About 20 cars went on this day run.
Kassy and I couldn’t go because of her work picnic was the same day but I was told that the roads were
great for corvettes and the weather was as beautiful as the bluebonnets throughout the entire day.

Well, it may not be a drive through the Tuscan countryside, but it will be a nice drive over some really nice roads in Texas, north
and west of Houston. We’ll meet in Tomball and drive over some familiar roads and some new roads as we progress to Sealy
for a nice Italian lunch at Mirabelli Fine Italian Restorante. Meeting at 9:00 AM so that everyone can get checked in, a Drivers
Meeting at 9:20 AM, and Wheels Turning at 9:30 AM. We have placed a specific order for Lots of Sunshine and rain will not be
allowed. Bring your two way radios and be prepared for a beautiful Top Down Day!
