I-25/Missouri Bridge Phas
Phase
I:
I-25/Missouri
Bridge
Southbound traffic will continue to have two lanes open
with restrictions of 11 feet, due to work within close
proximity. Northbound traffic to be reduced to one lane
with a lane restriction of 11 feet.
Detour paving on Interstate 25 will impact traffic accessing I
-25/University. The contractor will also have crew members
working on drainage structures for northbound roadway
widening.
Phase II: I-25/Missouri Bridge
Southbound traffic to reduce to one lane prior to crossing
the I-25/Lohman Bridge in order to support the switch in
traffic of I-25 northbound lanes. Southbound I-25 on ramp
at Lohman creates a second southbound lane through the
Missouri Bridge project.
Northbound lanes will be restricted to one lane. All two
lanes will be restricted to 11 feet.
Construction will involve the removal of the I-25
southbound bridge structure and a portion of the I-25
roadway. The Demolition of the existing bridge will occur
during a full closure of Missouri Avenue. This will include
removal of the existing median drop inlets and construction
of the median drop inlets and connections to the existing
drainage structures .
The second phase will start in late March of 2015 and is
scheduled to take approximately 4 Months.
Phase III: I-25/Missouri Bridge
Southbound and northbound traffic will be shifted
to the newly constructed Bridge on I-25. Two lanes
southbound and one lane northbound will open to
traffic with 11 foot width restrictions. This will allow
the contractor to begin demolition of the existing
northbound bridge which, includes removal of a
portion of I-25.
Construction of the bridge and drainage
improvements will be conducted. Including drop
inlets and median inlets.
This portion of the bridge should be completed by
November of 2015.
Phase IV: I-25/Missouri Bridge
Two southbound traffic lanes and two northbound
lanes to remain open on the final Bridge all widths
will be 12 width. Motorists may encounter
intermittent closures to University Avenue due to
movement of traffic control. Detours will be posted
alerting motorists.
Construction of the inside median shoulder with
the placement of pavement in order to widen the
areas of north and southbound lanes for I-25.
Work along Missouri will be ongoing which will
include drainage improvements, curb, gutter,
sidewalk-ADA pedestrian, signalization and lighting.
Motorists will have full access to Missouri Avenue.
The only time Missouri Ave. will be closed will be
during demolition and beam placement of the I-25
Bridge. Traffic will encounter lane restrictions and
reduction in speed. Traffic notifications will be
posted throughout the project alerting motorist of
any interferences.
