Greenwoods Clinical Services
We all struggle from time to time. Life’s
daily stressors can cause profound
psychological or emotional upset and
compromise the ability to thrive.
Greenwoods Counseling Referrals is the
face of help and the first stop on the
road to recovery. It’s the place to go
when life seems overwhelming and
problems feel insurmountable.
Greenwoods keeps it simple. We host the only multidisciplinary, private
mental health clinician association in the state – the Greenwoods
Association of Private Providers (GAPP). We match clients with the right
clinician, by providing a comprehensive diagnostic assessment before
we make referrals. Our services are timely and we have no wait lists.

Through 3 streamlined steps, Greenwoods helps clients find and enter
treatment with a highly qualified clinician:
1. First, we schedule an appointment for assessment in our
Litchfield, CT office.
2. Within 48 hours, we provide at least two individualized referrals.
3. We follow up to make sure clients are satisfied with their care.
When money is a worry, Greenwoods sometimes offers a small subsidy
to help offset the costs of co-pays or fees. Many of our clinicians have
sliding scales and the vast majority accept insurance.
We will continue to recruit GAPP practitioners in the coming year, with
the intent to expand into the Danbury and greater northern Fairfield
County area.

helped more than 990 families and 2600 individuals.

Conversations on the Green, known as COGs, benefit
Greenwoods and are part of our ongoing effort to
engage with and provide value to our community. The
events enable area residents to hear and question
prominent expert voices about issues of national
relevance. This year’s first event attracted about 200
people, and was capped off by a prix fixe, three-course
dinner at series sponsor The Mayflower Grace. COG
2 took place in early August and inspired near record
breaking attendance.

This Year’s Highlights
Greenwoods Association of Private Providers “GAPP”
GAPP is the only membership association of its kind –
a multidisciplinary private provider network that is
credentialed and personally vetted to ensure quality care. Our extensive network of over 100 members
throughout Litchfield and northern Fairfield County gains access to membership benefits including:
• Continuing Education Opportunities: In the past year, 15 continuing
education credits were made available at little to no cost to GAPP
members, fulfilling the requirement for license renewal.
• Referrals & Subsidies: Nearly $50,000 in intakes and subsidy was
paid out to GAPP members on behalf of their clients.
• A Voice in Public Policy: Within the past 12 months, we successfully
advocated for expansion of behavioral health coverage for the poor
under Medicaid C and D.
Additional benefits of GAPP members include client care coordination
and practice management resources. Moreover, Greenwoods has made
psychiatric medication management care available for the clients of
GAPP members to increase care integration. We have been and will
work to remain an innovator at the forefront of remodeling the clinical
services industry.

This has been a year of tremendous capacity building for Greenwoods.
We have revised our human resource and quality management
practices, redesigned our use of physical space,
and begun planning exciting new services
for the coming year. We are now
well-positioned to continue growing
Greenwoods, the GAPP network,
and our range of programs. We remain
committed to our mission:

Programming
• The Community Foundation of Northwest Connecticut funded us
to offer scholarships for EMDR training, with the goal to establish
Litchfield County’s first ever Trauma Recovery Network. In October and
December, 20 GAPP members will take advantage of free sponsored
seats, valued at $1,990 per session. The network will serve as a
trauma ‘hub’ in case of disaster or emergency, highly trained clinicians
will now be prepared to meet the needs of our community and to
support first-responders.
• Quarterly workshops focused on work-family issues for clinicians,
depressive disorders and comorbidities, and child and adolescent
psychiatry. Our attending members had the opportunity to learn
from and question innovative presenters while earning continuing
education credits.
Partnerships
• We are a newly recognized United Way agency, thanks to the New
Milford Chapter of the United Way of Western CT! This important
endorsement opens the door for us to build partnerships with
other chapters.
