The Company’s sole warranty obligations in respect of the Goods
are expressed separately within the product documentation
published by the Company in respect of specific products,
including the Operations Manual, Directions for Use and Service
Manual, to which the Customer should refer for further details.
Any such product warranties shall be deemed to be incorporated
in these conditions.
For disposable and silicone products, in addition to the warranty
printed on this page, the products are warranted to be in a sterile
condition if the package in which the product is contained is intact
in its original sealed condition.

B. Repair Programmes
1. Repair Programme
Codman provides a quality repair service for all the instruments
and equipment in this catalogue. Every effort is made by our
skilled craftspersons to see that damaged instruments are repaired
to optimal working condition. Items requiring repair should be
sent to your local Codman distributor.
2. Warranty on repairs
Repair products are warranted to be free from defects in
workmanship and material with respect to the Repair and
Restore only, and not with respect to the original instrument.
C. Prices
Local prices are listed in the local Codman price list, and are
subject to change without notice.
Prices in the Price List are for One Unit, unless otherwise noted.
Where prices are for more than one unit, the minimum shipping
unit must be ordered.
Alteration, repair or modification of any product which is
performed by persons not authorised by Codman will result in
immediate loss of warranty.
Codman shall not, in any case, be liable for direct, indirect, special,
incidental or consequential damages arising from breach of
warranty, breach of contract, negligence, or any other legal theory.
Such damages include, but are not limited to, loss of profits or
revenues, loss of use of the product or any associated equipment,
cost of capital, cost of any substitute product, facilities or services,
down-time costs, or claims of customers for such damages.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
• The heat pipe consists of a vacuum-sealed tube
injected with a small amount of two-phase working
fluid.
• The heat generated at the distal end of the tip is
immediately drawn into the tube’s fluid and vaporized
at the point of heat input.
• The vapor travels due to the positive pressure gradient
created by the vaporization to the proximal end of the
tube, where the vapor condenses into the wicking
structure.
• The wicking structure allows the cooled, condensed
working fluid to return to the distal end of the tip by
capillary action, even working against gravity.

Tear Resistance
Less cerebrospinal fluid leakage with closing by elasticity of P(LA/
CL) film, and no tear by reinforcing of PGA felt.
Biodegradation
SEAMDURA is degraded and absorbed and finally replaced with

Transparency

HYDROCEPHALUS
The UNI-SHUNT™ with Reservoir incorporates a double dome access
port to facilitate injections and aspirations of CSF samples. It is a
continuous length of barium impregnated silicone tubing with an
access reservoir made of self sealing silicone which can be punctured
with a 25 gauge or smaller Huber type needle.
The simplicity of one piece design means that there are no
connectors, so the possibility of disconnection and subsequent
complications is eliminated.
The catheter has rounded X-ray detactable tantalum ventricular and
distal tips, X-ray detectable pressure markings at the distal tip, and
X-ray detectable markings on the ventricular and peritoneal ends.
The UNI-SHUNT™ catheter with Reservoir Kit is supplied sterile with
the following:
Blunt Tip Needle, 17 gauge, disposable, for flushing and
testing purposes.
Disposable Malleable Catheter Passer, short. Each 90cm
and 102cm length kits also include one disposable
Malleable Catheter Passer, long.

in a stainless steel mesh and totally encased in silicone.
The silicone casing contains an inlet and outlet port,

HOLTER™ Ventricular Catheter - Reservoirs
(also referred to as Cerebral Catheter Reservoirs)
The Ventricular Catheter-Reservoir is an all silicone rubber reservoir and
right-angle catheter molded together as one unit, X-ray detectable.
The dome-shaped reservoir has a base made of reinforced sheeting,
coated with silicone rubber. The reservoir has a height of 6.0mm, and
the base, which extends beyond the diameter of the reservoir to
accommodate sutures, has a diameter of 15.7mm.
The catheter segment and distal end of the Catheter-Reservoir has a
1.5mm inside diameter and a 3.1mm outside diameter. The distal end
of the Catheter-Reservoir is designed to accommodate the inlet
adapter of a HOLTER™ Valve when the reservoir is used in a shunt
system.
Included with the HOLTER™ Ventricular Catheter Reservoir are:
A stainless steel stylet, for the insertion of the ventricular portion of
the catheter.
A stainless steel plug, inserted in the distal end of the reservoir. Note:

T he CODMAN MICROSENSOR ICP Transducer consists of a miniature strain gauge pressure sensor mounted in a
titanium case at the tip of a 100cm flexible nylon tube. The MICROSENSOR monitors intracranial pressure directly at

T his double lumen bolt allows the fixation of

500 probes with one device.
The green-striped lumen is the angled lumen. The bolt
can be oriented with the angled lumen diverting
medially or laterally, as needed (See Figure 2 in IFU).
At a sensor implant depth of 25mm, probe tips
inserted along a straight trajectory will have 4.7mm of
separation. At a sensor implant depth of 30mm, probe
tips inserted along a straight trajectory will have
5.2mm of separation.
The entire bolt when assembled for insertion is 11cm
in length from the bottom of the bolt assembly to the
top of the fastened Touhy-Borst adapters.
