Kryptonite’s Security Rating
The Kryptonite Security Rating system compares all Kryptonite locks to each
other on a scale of one to twelve. One is deterrent security only - twelve is
ultimate security for high crime areas. This system will help you select, or
recommend, the correct lock for the specific needs of your area.
When choosing a powersports security product there are a few things to consider,
including design features, materials used in the development of the lock, the correct
size for the application and the services the manufacturer offers with the lock.
The information on warranties, European testing agencies, anti-theft protection
offers, Key Safe, Combo Safe, key replacements, keyed alike and Kryptonite’s
security ratings are all included in this section.

Register your key number, pre-set combination or resettable
combination with Kryptonite for free! If you lose your keys or forget
your combination, contact us and we’ll be happy to provide your
combination or replace your keys. With most of our keyed locks, you
receive your first two replacement keys free.
If your lock is not part of the Key Safe Program, or if you have
already received one free set, a nominal fee will be charged.

test with tools or devices that are not commonly available, too. We also constantly
analyze data from customer returns and work with law enforcement agencies.
If that isn’t enough, Kryptonite holds more than 40 approvals at
Sold Secure (UK), ART (NL), VdS (DE), N.F. (FRA), Classe SRA
(FRA) and SSF (Sweden). These independent testing agencies
attacked the products with every bit of malice the testers could
throw at them and they still held up. They were subjected to strict
real world testing such as cutting, pulling, picking and attack

Keyed Alike Services
Kryptonite expertly tests its locks with a variety of tools (bolt cutters, hack saws,
hammers, crowbars, grinders, hydraulic devices, etc.) and in a variety of ways
many times over. This is not something that we take lightly and it isn’t something
that we do just one time. These locks are continuously put through a barrage of
tests, including all known methods used on the streets.

Warranty Information
Lifetime Limited Warranty:
Schlage Lock Company, LLC, through its Kryptonite division (“Kryptonite”) extends a limited
lifetime warranty to the original user of the products manufactured by Kryptonite (the
“Products”) against defects in material and workmanship.
What Kryptonite Will Do:
Upon return of the defective Product to Kryptonite or its authorized distributor for inspection,
free and clear of all liens and encumbrances and accompanied by the statement of defects
and proof of purchase, Kryptonite will replace the Product.
Original User:
This warranty only applies to the Original User of Products.This warranty is not transferable.
What Is Not Covered:
The following costs, expenses and damages are not covered by the provisions of this
limited warranty: (i) labour costs including, but not limited to, such costs for the removal and
reinstallation of Products; (ii) shipping and freight expenses required to return the Products
to Kryptonite; or (iii) any other incidental, consequential, indirect, special and/or punitive
damages, whether based on contract, warranty, tort (including, but not limited to strict
liability or negligence), patent infringement, or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of
such damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or
consequential damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.
The provisions of this limited warranty does not apply to Products: (i) that contain a
Schlage® cylinder; provided, however the lock body is covered under this warranty (refer to
specific Schlage Lock Company warranties for the cylinder); (ii) used for purposes for which
they are not designed or intended; (iii) which have been subjected to alteration, misuse,
abuse, negligence, or accident; (iv) which have been improperly stored, installed, maintained, repaired or operated; (v) which have been used in violation of writteninstructions
provided by Kryptonite; (vi) which have been subjected to improper temperature, humidity,
or other environmental conditions (i.e., corrosion); or (vii) which, based on Kryptonite’s
examination, do not disclose to the Kryptonite’s satisfaction non-conformance to this warranty.
Additional Terms:
NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARE MADE WITH RESPECT TO THE
PRODUCTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Kryptonite does not authorize
any person to create for it any obligation or liability or additional warranty in connection
with the Products. Kryptonite’s maximum liability under this warranty is limited to the
purchase price of the Product. No action arising out of any claimed breach of this warranty by Kryptonite may be brought by the Original User more than one (1) year after the
cause of action has arisen.
How State Law Applies:
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which
vary from state to state or country.
