Dear Trucking Industry Executive:
I am writing to invite you to attend the 2013 American Trucking Associations (ATA) Leadership
Meeting, May 5 – 8, at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa, Palm Desert, California. All ATA
members are cordially invited to attend this vital meeting. This year’s meeting schedule includes a
comprehensive business agenda along with networking opportunities, and we have also managed to work
in some free time on Monday afternoon so you can enjoy all the JW Marriott and the city of Palm Desert
have to offer.
As you know, ATA and the trucking industry continue to face many ongoing political and policy
challenges and opportunities. We will be discussing hot industry topics associated with hours of service
litigation, EEOC enforcement actions, CSA and the Inspector General’s investigation, and regulatory
proposals on electronic logging devices and a drug and alcohol test results clearinghouse. The meeting
agenda includes updates on Members of Congress and key Congressional Committee leadership, as
well as discussion opportunities on other challenges that face our industry. These discussions will help
focus ATA’s advocacy priorities. I encourage you to register today to add your voice to shaping our
industry’s message.
Networking highlights of the meeting include the ATA Opening Reception on Sunday evening
supporting the trucking industry’s award-winning research organization, the American Transportation
Research Institute (ATRI), and the ATA Leadership Dinner on Tuesday evening with featured
entertainment. And, for those who are so inclined, a Golf Outing on Wednesday on the exceptional 18-hole
Palm Golf Course will round out our program.
There will also be an invitation-only event to benefit Truck PAC, the political action committee
for ATA. The reception and dinner will be held on the evening of Monday, May 6. For more information
about the event, please contact Bethany Field at (202) 544-6245.
Enclosed you will find a Preliminary Meeting Schedule, registration materials and additional
information on the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. If you have any questions about the ATA
Leadership Meeting, please call ATA toll-free at (866) 729-3932.
Sincerely,
Enclosures
