W
e are pleased to announce the
launch of business services here at
Keesler Federal Credit Union.
This is an exciting endeavor for your credit
union because it will allow business owners to
enjoy the same value in banking products for
their business that they’ve enjoyed for
consumer services.
Our initial planning for business services began
with a focus group meeting with local business
owners. This meeting gave us an opportunity
to learn what was most important to business
owners so we could tailor the products to best
help businesses meet their goals.

MasterCard®
Announces
Zero Liability
Effective October 17, 2014, you’ll have
even more peace of mind in protection
against fraudulent charges with
Retirement
MasterCard® Zero Liability. This means
Are You Saving Enough?
The rule-of-thumb formula is to
plan to live on 70% to 80% of your
pre-retirement income during your
retirement years, while increasing your
replacement income annually at the
inflation rate for 30 years.
But one size does not fit all. Your
replacement income requirements will
more realistically range from 54% to
90% of your pre-retirement income
Important in determining your
replacement rate is your ratio of
pre-tax expenses like a 401(k), to
post-tax expenses like a mortgage
or Roth IRA.
The more saved in pretax retirement
accounts before you retire, the lower
your replacement requirements.
Other factors that affect your
replacement rate are:
`` Some of today’s expenses will
decline or disappear when you retire
such as work related taxes and
expenses. You’ll spend less on
insurance and retirement plans too.
`` During retirement, your expenses
will decrease in real terms at first
and then increase toward the end
due to changes in consumption and
potentially greater health care
expenses.
`` Your life expectancy might be less
or more than 30 years. Use Social
Security’s online calculator at
www.ssa.gov to estimate your
life expectancy.
that you will not be liable for unauthorized
transactions on your MasterCard® Debit
`` If you have a low
pre-retirement income,
say, $20,000 a year, your
replacement rate will
likely be higher than
that of someone who
makes $100,000 a year.
`` After age 65, you stand
a 70% chance of
requiring long-term
care and help with basic
daily activities, even if
only temporarily.
If you can, delay Social
Security as late as possible,
you’ll get a higher
inflation-adjusted
benefit for life.
Card for PIN-based and Signature
transactions, as long as you notify us
promptly upon becoming aware of a loss
or theft of your debit card. Previously,
consumers were liable for up to $50 of
fraudulent charges for PIN-based
transactions. This new rule removes the
$50 or less limit of liability.
To report your card lost or stolen,
please call 1-800-682-6075.
