Sureclean
joins NRC
Group
Sureclean has recently announced
the exciting news that it has joined
the National Response Corporation
(NRC) Group (www.nrcc.com).
It is anticipated that the global
strength and financial resources of
NRC will allow Sureclean to continue
with our international expansion and
add new services while ensuring the
continuation of high quality services to
our customers wherever we operate.
Haewene Brim at Nigg Dry Dock
2013, what a year
Sureclean smashed a number of company records in 2013, completing our most
successful and profitable year to date with turnover exceeding £22million.
It is very much business as usual at
Sureclean;
continuing
to
trade
independently
with
the
same
management team and structure.
This announcement has been well
received by our Clients and we look
forward to continuing and evolving
these relationships.
It also saw Sureclean complete our largest single project in the history of the
business, working on the Haewene Brim FPSO at Nigg Energy Park.
Zero LTI’s
With increased projects comes an increase in exposure man-hours and Sureclean
employees worked in excess of 1.4 man-hours throughout 2013, 89% greater than
2012. We are pleased to announce that these man-hours were achieved with zero losttime incidents (LTIs), a testimony to our training and aptitude of our employees.
Increased Employee Numbers
Employee numbers have continued to grow, and we now employ a permanent
workforce of over 130 personnel, continuing to be one of the largest employers in
the Alness area.
Vacuum Transfer Technology
Committed to Development
Sureclean is committed to the development of our people, equipment and
infrastructure. We have expanded our equipment fleet by almost £3million, increasing
our number of water jetting units and associated technologies along with our vacuum
transfer systems and hot water washer numbers. Sureclean has also recently invested
in a number of new technologies including LP BA Compressors, Area Gas Monitoring
Equipment, Camera Inspection Equipment and Milling Equipment.

involved in a number of inshore
rig projects not only on our doorstep at Invergordon, but also

inshore rig projects undertaken
recently shows our SPS/IRM

confident this success will
continue throughout 2014.

CNR International’s Murchison Platform
Sureclean wins Decommissioning
Contract
Sureclean has secured a 3 year contract with Aker Solutions
providing services in support of the decommissioning of the CNR
Murchison Platform.
A Sureclean Project Engineer is now based within the Aker Solutions
office, integrating as part of their larger decommissioning team.
The platform ceased production in February 2014 and Sureclean now
have our ‘boots on the ground’.
We are currently working closely with both Aker Solutions and CNR during
the planning phases in order to shutdown the platform as safely as
possible, prior to deconstruction.
Decommissioning activity is increasing and Sureclean has also been
working on a number of decommissioning projects in Angola, alongside MI

Sureclean ‘clean up’ at awards
There you go… we’ve said the pun so you don’t have to!
Sureclean secured the ‘Top SME300 Turnaround’ award at the Business
Insider Scottish SME awards. The winners were announced at a
prestigious black tie ceremony held on Thursday 27th February at the
Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow.
Sureclean was recognized for its turnaround strategy during the
recession; the Company struggled in 2010 when budgets within the
industry were cut and planned maintenance routines were put on hold.
Sureclean weathered the recession by making significant cutbacks in
some areas of the business and as a result of this were able to retain all
staff, ensuring they were fully resourced when the economy once again
stabilised.
Sureclean girls Sara Murray and Ishbel Lavery were representing the
Company at the awards.
Sureclean visits Scottish
Rally Championship
If you have seen a Subaru Impreza
painted the distinctive ‘Sureclean’
orange then your eyes have not been
seeing things.
Sureclean employee Dean Ross is now
sponsored by Sureclean for the 2014
Scottish Rally Season. Check out the
Sureclean Facebook for his progress
throughout the season.
Sureclean, a Carbon Neutral Company
Unfortunately the pictures to the right are not Sureclean’s new office
locations, they are the locations of our carbon offsetting projects in Santa
Edwigesl, Brazil (top) and Yesil, Turkey (bottom).
Sureclean has recently become a carbon neutral company, offsetting our
emissions against two international Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)
hydropower projects.
These projects are contributing to Sureclean’s sustainable development,
improving economic conditions and income within the regions, increasing
the percentage of renewable energy generated and reducing import
dependency on fossil fuel weighed electricity sector and diversifying
generation mix through use of local resources.

Building for Growth
In line with the Company’s continuous development ethos, our infrastructure is currently being
heavily invested in, with 3 construction projects currently underway.
Sureclean LMS
Last year we were delighted to
launch our online e-learning
system (Sureclean LMS); we
can now reach more staff, more
easily to deliver essential training
out-with
a
traditional
classroom environment
This involves building a new International Headquarters on land mid-way between the two
existing Alness facilities. The development (pictured above) will provide office space for a
minimum of 50 staff and will extend to approximately 650m² over two storeys.
The building will be a combination of open plan and enclosed offices supported by a range of
multi-purpose meeting/ training rooms and welfare facilities.
In parallel with this we are also constructing a multi-purpose warehouse and stores facility within
the existing Support Services base in Alness. This will increase the capacity, functionality and
efficiency of the existing premises.
These works are being carried out by Morrison Construction and are currently on schedule to
finish in June 2014.
Our Tamala base will also soon be moving to a new office complex currently being constructed
in Oldmeldrum. This 4.7 acre office, warehouse and yard development will become our base to
service our Aberdeen clients. The development is scheduled for completion in August 2014 and
is being constructed by Bancon Construction.
The company has expanded rapidly over the last few years and our workforce is out-growing our
current facilities.
Sureclean’s operational requirements and growth expectations have been considered throughout the design stages of this development to ensure the facility meets the everyday needs of the
Company and provides the capacity for continuous growth.

SOC cards raise £3,500
Every year the Company pledges to donate to charity for every valid Sureclean Observation Card (SOC) raised by our people
with Macmillan Cancer Support 2013’s chosen charity.
The SOC programme provides a platform for employees to formally document good and bad safety practice, safety observations, proposed improvements with immediate and further actions taken when required.
In addition to our yearly charity donation, there is also a reward for the most beneficial SOC every month; the author receives
a safety, health or welfare related gift. Our people are core to our business and at the centre of health and safety initiatives.
The SOC scheme is just one of these initiatives which
contribute towards our positive safety culture.
We introduced our SOC programme in 2010 and it has
grown from 450 SOCs submitted in its initial year to the
fantastic result of over 1500 in 2013.
Many improvements have been made in response to SOCs
submitted by our staff and it gives them a voice to raise
observations which they know will be further investigated.
