“The Leadership
Imperative”
Martha “Marty” Gervasi is executive vice president of Human Resources at
The Hartford, a role she assumed in May 2012.
Marty joined The Hartford in November 2010 as senior vice president of
Human Resources for Consumer Markets and, in January 2012, she was
appointed to the role of senior vice president of Human Resources for
Commercial Markets.
Prior to joining The Hartford, Marty held human resources leadership
roles at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) including Global
Human Resources Leader and Chief Human Resources Officer for its
Innovative Plastics business. Before that, she spent 20 years in Human
Resources at General Electric in numerous leadership roles at GE Aerospace,
GE Power Systems, GE Corporate Benefits Delivery, and GE Plastics.
Marty holds an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.A.
in American Studies from the University of Saint Joseph, where she now
serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. She and her husband,
Mike, live in West Hartford and have three children.
