Buff Up Your Business With
These Tech Tools This Summer
FEATURE
STORY
I
love a smart tool that knows what I need even
before I realize that I need it. That is why I
love the six totally free tools in my Summer
Six-Pack. Besides the freeness, these tools can
help you work smarter, get things done faster and
more efficiently and look cool. Don’t dismiss
looking cool in front of a client, it can go a long
way. Now I realize that some of you will read this
and think … how in the world will I figure that
out? No worries … check out the recording of my
May 18 SWRA Webinar titled Free (or Mostly
Free) Tech Tools for REALTORS®.

I heart Google. You could run your entire
business on free tools from Google. No lie.
Google Docs offers you – Documents (think
Word), Spreadsheets (or Excel), Presentation
(PowerPoint) and the ability to create Forms and
Drawings. The best part about Google Docs is the
compatibility. If you have been using Microsoft
Office for years, you can upload a Word, Excel or
PowerPoint document and edit it in Google Docs.
Even better, you can send it to someone else and
they never know that you used Google to make
your edits. Another cool feature of Google docs is
the live collaboration … I can work on doc, share
it with a client and we can both view and edit the
in these litigious times. Google Docs would be
perfect for this – create a “Word” doc in Google
Docs, share it with your seller and poof!
Edits made easy.
I take a ton of notes. I can’t remember anything
unless I write it down. For someone who spends
most of her days in front of her devices … note
taking on paper was a pain. I researched list and
note taking tools quite a bit, but I could never
find one that truly met my needs. In walks
Evernote and just like that … I am in love! I have
Evernote installed on my laptop, my iPad and my
smartphone. Everything syncs without me having
to do anything. I can tag my notes; keep notebooks, share, print and more. Even cooler – I can
send a webpage to Evernote or copy a snippet of a
page and send it directly to Evernote.
Evernote real estate tip: Keep your client notes in
Evernote and you will always have them on all of
your devices!
Jing is one tool on this list that you might think
you could never use. I say, try it once and you’ll be
hooked! Jing allows you to take a picture or record
a short video of what is on your screen and share it
instantly. This free tool has a professional version
that you can buy, but honestly, the free one does
so much that you won’t need it! So I download
Jing and little yellow ball just kind of hangs out at
the top middle of my laptop screen. When I need
to capture or record something, I click the yellow
ball, capture the information and save, copy, share,
whatever! It’s really that easy.
Jing real estate tip: I am totally stealing this tip
from the Tech Savvy Agent guys … they suggested
showing your customers the Zillow Zestimates
disclaimers at the bottom of Zillow. I will show you
how to do this in the video!
SugarSync is squished in the middle of this
list, but is probably one of my favorite tools that I
started using this year. Kudos go to the PAR team
for introducing this tool to the Board of Directors
Besides the freeness, these tools can help you work smarter,
get things done faster and more efficiently and look cool.
doc TOGETHER online. Google Docs will let you
know that other person is viewing the doc, plus
you will see their edits as they happen.
Google Docs real estate tip: We ask our agents to
have every MLS description approved by their sellers.
This is an extra step, but one we think makes sense

As a voice for your colleagues, what strengths/insights will you bring to the Board discussions?
I have an ability to bring views and opinions, even highly controversial ones, into balance so that the parties

What issues do you feel the Association should be addressing?
I would like to see the Board focus on more Broker involvement programs, training, and networking in the upcoming
two-year term. I feel that engaging Manager/Broker/Owners even more is our best way to delegate the promotion of
Suburban West and all of its great benefits to the broader membership.
Why are you interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors?
First, I want to stay actively involved with the development and perpetuation of professionalism. Secondly, I find the
education and business development support that SWRA provides to its membership to be exceptional, but at the same
time, greatly under-utilized by its members. I would like to see more participation by the broad-based membership and
believe that can be accomplished with more Broker/Owner participation resulting in SWRA leadership working with
constituent leadership.
E
ach year, REALTOR® members of the Suburban West REALTORS® Association
are provided the opportunity to cast votes for candidates seeking placement
on the Board of Directors. For the 2012 election, ballots will be mailed and email
notification sent to every REALTOR® member on September 7 with the election
culminating at the Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Wednesday,
September 28 at the Springfield Country Club. Members will be asked to choose
five (5) REALTOR® members and one (1) Affiliate member to serve alongside the
incumbent Directors. Members elected will serve a 2-year term to the Board.
As in previous years, members have the option of casting their ballot through the
mail or by electronic means. In accordance with the Bylaws, additional candidates
may be placed in nomination by petition by at least five percent (5%) of the
REALTOR® members eligible to vote. The petition must be filed with the Chief
Executive Officer at least four (4) weeks before the election (August 31).

Beth Endrizzi

14 years active in Real Estate
What was your career prior to real estate, if applicable?
Prior to my Real Estate career I ran a day care in my home, which allowed me to care for my four children.
What type of leadership roles have you held outside of real estate?
Although most of my leadership experience has been tied to my Real Estate career as Office Manager, I have been
actively involved in fundraising activities for Easter Seals and my local Volunteer Fire Company.
The REALTOR® candidates for election to the 2012 Board of Directors are as follows:
As a voice for your colleagues, what strengths/insights will you bring to the Board discussions?
I have been a member of the Grievance Committee, an Association Liaison, and have been involved at the State
Level as a Director for PAR. Being involved in managing my Office, I have been able to stay involved in current
Market Conditions and challenges that our members face on a daily basis. I would like to continue to represent our
members as a Director.

What issues do you feel the Association should be addressing?
I believe member involvement is key to the success of our Association. We offer so many great programs and need to
continue to spread the word to our members so that they can continue to be involved. We also need to constantly
focus on our mission statement: The Association’s mission is to “to protect the professional integrity of its members and to
provide products, services and information on a cost-effective basis, which will enable the members to: maximize their income,
provide superior service to the public, and grow to meet the needs for the future.
Profiles
Why are you interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors?
It has been an honor to serve on the Board and has been a very rewarding experience. I would be thrilled to be
afforded the chance to serve again. Real Estate is my passion and I want to continue to be part of the leadership team
at Suburban West.

April 2011
Oceans cover nearly three-quarters of
the Earth’s surface and contain many of the
planet’s most majestic creatures.
And while the list goes on, there is good news.
Pollution from land-based sources is contaminating seafood
to toxic levels. The world’s oceans are becoming more acidic
from rising carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere.
Marine life, ocean ecosystems and coastal economies are
threatened by the renewed push to expand offshore oil drilling
off of our coasts.
Destructive fishing practices indiscriminately kill wildlife such
as marine mammals, sea turtles and sea birds. Each year, more
than 16 billion pounds of unwanted fish are thrown overboard
during commercial fishing activities. Shark populations are
also plummeting as they are targeted for their fins, meat and
liver oil.
Nearly all of the world’s fish populations are in jeopardy
from overfishing. According to the UN Food and Agriculture
Organization, 80 percent of the world’s fisheries are overexploited,
fully exploited or recovering from depletion and need more
effective and precautionary management.
We are destroying the abundance of the oceans.
We are taking too many fish out of the water.
We are putting too many pollutants in the water.
Saving the oceans is possible in our lifetime. The oceans
are resilient. We can restore ocean ecosystems that will sustain
us, entertain us and amaze us. We can have a future where the
oceans are filled with abundance, local fishing cultures thrive,
and fish are a safe and plentiful food source for the world.
