About Our Mission
Every day 43 children are diagnosed with cancer.
PADRES Contra El Cáncer (parents against cancer) is an
organization committed to improving the quality of life for
children with cancer and their families.
Children and young adults, as well as their family members
who are battling cancer undergo severe emotional and
financial hardship. The need for support programs and

PADRES hosts a variety of special events and holiday
celebrations throughout the year that benefit the entire family.
These events offer patients and their family members the
opportunity to come together as a family in a safe and funfilled environment.
A cancer diagnosis not only affects the family emotionally but
financially as well. PADRES offers a variety of services and
resources to help families minimize the financial burden they
encounter while their child is undergoing treatment.
One of our main priorities for our children and families is
to be well-versed in all aspects of health education. Our
programs are designed to educate all members of the family
on topics such as, childhood cancer, related blood disorders,
psychosocial issues, nutrition, physical fitness and general
family health.
Our program brings parents together and builds a network
of psychological support that assist each family member in
coping with the diagnosis and treatment.
Bat 4 HOPE Celebrity Softball Game
PADRES Ambassador and First Baseman for the Los
Angeles Dodgers, Adrian Gonzalez will host the first annual
‘Bat 4 HOPE’ Celebrity Softball Game. The LA Dodgers,
PADRES Ambassadors, and other celebrity supporters will
come together to raise awareness for childhood cancer and
fundraise for PADRES’ vital programs and services.
Bat 4 HOPE will take place on Saturday, November 7th, 2015
and will include the following:

• Celebrity VIP Lounge
• Meet & Greet Opportunities with Celebrity Supporters
