Welcome to Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church!
!
A Note From The Pastor…!
I hope that you all had a Merry Christmas, and experienced
a special welcoming of Jesus into your hearts.!
This weekend we have the first Sunday a!er Christmas, and
so we celebrate The Feast of The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary,
and Joseph. The Church gives us this Feast in part to call us to
imitate the family life of the Holy Family. !
In this Sunday’s Gospel passage, it might be comfor'ng to
see that even in the most perfect family, there were honest
misunderstandings. We also see that their lives were truly
dedicated to God, making a pilgrimage to Jerusalem which was
no short trip for them in those days. Yet the Holy Family
placed God first in their lives, and so should we. !
The Feast of The Holy Family is all the more important !
because of the many challenges facing the modern family. A
quote from St. Pope John Paul, II, “As the family goes, so goes the naon, and so goes the
whole world in which we live.”!
This Friday is January 1st, and we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of
God. It’s a Holy Day of Obliga'on. Please note the schedule of Masses: !
!
!
!
New Year’s Eve, Thursday, December 31, 2015!
Mass: 8AM!
Mass: 5PM Solemnity of Mary!
New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1, 2016!
Mass: 9AM Solemnity of Mary!
A good New Year’s resolu'on would be to rededicate yourself and your family to being
faithful to God in all that you do in this coming year. !
I spoke with Fr. John Mulvihill on the phone, and assured him of our prayers for his brother
and our former Pastor, Fr. David Mulvihill. Informa'on regarding a Memorial Mass this !
Monday for Fr. David appears below: !
!
Mass will be celebrated:!
This Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11AM!
At St. Benedict Residence!

A;enon Boys and Girls!!!
Are You Interested In Becoming !
An Altar Server?!
We really need your help! One of the very
important ministries we can offer a person
your age is to become an Altar Server. When
we gather for various liturgical celebra:ons,
especially Sunday Mass, we are invited to !
par:cipate in the fullest way in that worship
service. Being an Altar Server is one such way
that we share our Godgiven giKs with the
rest of the Parish community. The Altar Server, as the name suggests,
adds to the celebra:on of the Eucharist by his or her assistance to the
Priest and Deacon presiding at Mass.!
I would like to invite you to consider becoming an Altar Server. We
have a great need for good, reliable, and prayerful servers at our !
liturgies, so I hope you would feel welcome to join your peers in this !
ministry. We have a number of boys and girls in both the School and !
Religious Educa:on Program who are currently servers, so if you would
like to know more about it, you can ask one of them, or contact me.!
All boys and girls in Grades 5th through 8th (as well as High School
Grades) are welcome to be Altar Servers. There will be three training !
sessions to teach you all about this ministry, and you must a1end all
three sessions. If you have a conflict aIending any of these three !
sessions, please contact me to work out an alterna:ve. You also need to
fill out a Permission Form, and return it to me at the first training session.
Permission Forms are available in the Church Ves:bule, Rectory, School
Office, or Religious Educa:on Office. The dates/:mes for the Training
Sessions (to be held in the Church) are as follows:!
!
Session 1!
Monday, January 4, 2016, from 5:30PM to 6:30PM!
or !
Wednesday, January 6, 2016, from 5:30PM to 6:30PM!
!
Session 2!
Monday, January 11, 2016, from 5:30PM to 7PM!
or !
Wednesday, January 13, 2016, from 5:30PM to 7PM!
!

Monday, January 18, 2016, from 5:30PM to 7PM!
or !
Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 5:30PM to 7PM!
!
Please Note: It is very important that at least one parent (or guardian)
sign the Permission Form we need their permission for you to be able
to help us. You must bring this Permission Form to the first training !
session.!
