Mission Statement of St. Anthony Church
We are a Catholic community of faith in the Jesuit tradition gathered around Jesus Christ and centered in the
Eucharist. In a diverse and changing world we struggle to grow in our relationship with God and with one another.
Through our worship, our ministries and our promotion of peace and justice, we walk with Jesus of the Gospel who
reveals God’s love for all.

Scripture Reflection
Jesus healed ten lepers in today’s Gospel. Only one
(10%) came back to say thank you. I, too, have received many blessings from the Lord - indeed, all I
am and all I have is gift! How and how often have I
remembered to thank Him?
Living Stewardship
We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who remember what is truly important in life and
give witness by serving others out of gratitude to our
generous God.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
In today’s Gospel we hear that only one of
those healed returned to glorify God and to
give thanks to God. It is true, that when we
have a grateful heart we know that everything is a gift from God.
To give thanks for all that God has given to you,
have you considered answering the call to help
serve the poor by joining the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul?

2016 Public Square Rosary Crusade.
America is at an historic crossroad. Secularists are
trying to push God form the public square. They reject
His beneficial action upon society. But without God,
where will our leaders get the wisdom to solve the
great problems we face?
We must stop the secularist advance and pray to
God for help. He will hear us, if we pray through the
intercession of His Blessed Mother.
Please join us in praying for our nation:

Catholics Care. Catholics Vote.
"We need to participate for the common good.
Sometimes we hear: a good Catholic is not interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics immerse themselves in politics by offering
the best of themselves so that the leader can
govern." - Pope Francis, 9/16/13
The Catholic bishops of the United
States are pleased to offer once again to the
Catholic faithful Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship (also available in Spanish), our
teaching document on the political responsibility of Catholics. This statement represents our
guidance for Catholics in the exercise of their
rights and duties as participants in our democracy.

“Wherever there are Christians, everyone
should find an Oasis of Mercy.”
-Pope Francis
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
The Gospel’s mandate and the unwavering
emphasis of Pope Francis’ Year of Mercy is
that our love for God must be a reflection of
our love for one another, especially the weak
and vulnerable among us. Our Diocese’s annual Catholic Ministries Appeal is a daily response to that call and enables us to increase
our outreach to those most in need.
As the last few months of the 2016 Appeal and
Pope Francis’ Year of Mercy are upon us, I am
writing to ask that if you have not already done
so, you would consider making a donation to
the 2016 Catholic Ministries Appeal. You
would be joining with me, with your Pastor
and with many of your neighbors, to help bring
God’s love and mercy to His people.
There are so many of our neighbors in need of
our help; your support will help us to answer
those calls.
Again, please join with us. I assure you that as
One Faith, Family and Community we will
make a lasting difference in the lives of our
brothers and sisters on Long Island.
With my prayers and gratitude, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ,
“Allí donde están los cristianos, todos tendrían
que encontrar un oasis de misericordia”
-Papa Francisco
Bishop of Rockville Centre

Our talk for this evening will be “From Anger to

it back to him. Rob was clinically dead, but God allowed him to live to tell his story. Rob’s story is about
Hope, Faith, Anger and Guilt. It’s also about God,
Heaven and Forgiveness…He offers his testimony to
honor Jesus and as proof that God walks beside us
each and every day.
