Please join us for the 4th Annual Alley’s House luncheon, Creating New Futures, featuring Lucille
O’Neal, author and mother of Shaquille O’Neal. Registration will begin at 11:30 am and we will have
a silent auction of unique gifts and prizes for you to peruse as we gather to hear Ms. O’Neal.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Lucille O’Neal may be the mother of one of greatest athletes of all time, but Lucille O’Neal is much more than
Shaquille O’Neal’s mom. Acquainted early in life with turmoil, O’Neal’s circumstances shaped her perspective,
strengthening her resolve to overcome the challenges she would later encounter. She has endured poverty,
rejection, abuse, addiction and the illness of a child, yet today her faith and compassion for others is stronger than
ever. She shares her life story candidly – and often humorously – in her book Walk Like You Have Somewhere to
Go as well as in her keynotes. Because she was a teen mother herself at the age of 17, Alley’s House is thrilled to
have her share her motivational journey with our supporters and most importantly, our teen moms.

The event will also feature our annual Crusader Award, Mother of the Year and Volunteer of the Year
presentations. Our Mother of the Year, Alexis Atchley will inspire you with her story of overcoming
homelessness to graduate and pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. You’ll hear about her journey, as well as
how Alley’s House has helped her, and other moms like her on a path to independence.
