services offering face to face counselling in schools and

New Registrations: Online Counselling Service for Young People
Period 01 Jan 2012 to 17 May 2012
User Registrations by “hear about”
….. we do most our integration work in schools.
As a service establishes itself we tend to reach more
complex older users – through A&E for example

We provide outcome-informed interventions in
our services, such as:
 cCBT
 Group Work
 DBT
 Humanistic therapies
 Family mediation
As well as our vital early detection work
through drop in support and advice
…we can use interactive panel to share
worksheets with young people
…we are already using similar measures to those utilised
in the CYP IAPT. Following is a breakdown of how we
have developed measures on KOOTH.com…
Use of Measures:
…YP present with
higher levels of distress
online….
…There is a general
downward shift in scores
(i.e. improvement), though
this is hard to capture in
drop-in work
Measuring therapeutic alliance with young
people:
...most YP experienced a good or
acceptable Alliance with their worker
(even those who only dropped in
once or twice)
…the vast majority experienced
feeling listened to
(of significant therapeutic effect)
 A GbOM can help
determine what
works for whom,
how and under what
circumstances
 user friendly version of goal measure utilised in
CYP IAPT.
 Funding from BACP to trial the measure to
develop for general use



Varied interventions requires range of outcome
tools
Going beyond “does it work or doesn’t it” to
more complex question of how it works, and
which bits work for which users
Using same tools online and face-to-face
builds up picture of which medium works best
for which presentations
