Meet Winston-Salem
o More than $1 billion invested in downtown
development initiatives in the last 15 years, including
new retail and nightlife venues, restaurants and
conference facilities. Upgrades have recently been
completed at the Twin City Quarter’s 146-room
Embassy Suites and 315-room Downtown Marriott
– which connect to the Benton Convention Center
via two enclosed skyways.
o More than 1,000 hotel rooms conveniently located
downtown including the Embassy Suites and
the Marriott Hotel Winston-Salem, the Historic
Brookstown Inn, The Hawthorne Inn & Conference
Center, the Holiday Inn Express Downtown West,
the Augustus T. Zevely Inn, Fair ield Inn & Suites and
Kimpton, The Cardinal Hotel (opening spring 2016).
o Other meeting venues in easy walking distance of
the convention center include:
• WAKE FOREST INNOVATION QUARTER –
The conference center offers 15 rooms,
including an auditorium seating 120, five
flexible seating rooms, six boardrooms, a longdistance learning classroom and a soaring
7,500-square-foot atrium.
• THE MILLENNIUM CENTER – Built in 1906,
the three-story Center was formerly a post
office and federal building and offers a variety
of meeting space and settings for up to 1,500.
The 72,000 square foot center also offers onsite catering and A/V services.
• MILTON RHODES CENTER FOR THE ARTS
(MRCA) – Located in the heart of downtown
Winston-Salem, the MRCA offers planners an
attractive, flexible function space for meetings,
seminars, and receptions. The MRCA has
several meeting venue options including the
Reynolds Gallery, an impressive, 3,300-square
foot multi-purpose space offering state-of-theart A/V, as well as large-screen projection
capabilities, the 1,800-square-foot
Womble Carlyle Gallery, which displays local,
national and international artists and the
300-seat black box Hanesbrands Theatre.
• OLD SALEM MUSEUMS & GARDENS –
One of America’s most authentic colonial sites,
Old Salem takes guests back to the 18th and
19th century and the Moravian way of life and
more than 100 preserved and restored buildings.
Old Salem offers the Horton Museum Center at
the home of the internationally renowned
Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts,
which features a 1,270-square-foot auditorium,
490-seat classroom and outdoor spaces,
including the Courtyard, Meadow and Loggia.
The Old Salem Visitor Center can host meetings,
receptions, parties, or dinners including the James
A. Gray, Jr. Auditorium for events up to 300
people.
• STEVENS CENTER – The Stevens Center is
a beautifully restored 1929 movie theater,
located in downtown Winston-Salem. The
Main Theatre has fixed seating for 1,380 and
a 10th Floor Reception Hall with 2,500
square feet of meeting space.
