The CCS Spanish Immersion Gap Year Program is a perfect choice for those seeking to soak

language beginner or a seasoned veteran, a lover of Latin American history or only beginning
to explore the richly diverse cultures of South and Central America, this itinerary has something
for everyone!
Join us for a year that you won’t soon forget as you perfect your Spanish skills while exploring
three distinct Latin American nations. Kick off your volunteer adventure and your Spanish
language immersion in Cartago, Costa Rica, a small and centrally located city that puts you
within easy traveling distance of everything you’ll want to explore in this ecologically astounding
nation. Next, jet off to Guatemala with some solid Spanish skills under your belt. This off-thebeaten-path destination has yet to grow popular with tourists, so you’ll enjoy a chance to immerse
yourself in Central American culture in a way that few people ever get to experience. And to wrap
up your Spanish Immersion Gap Year, end your journey in Peru. A veritable cultural melting pot,
you’ll find endless opportunities to put your newfound language skills to the tests as you visit
markets, cities, coastline, and historic ruins.
