Nantes Saint-Nazaire
The Nantes Saint-Nazaire major shipping port
is changing course and is becoming a key
actor in the development of new energy
sources. With offshore wind turbines and
container and RoRo ships, 80 million Euro
have been invested in the port, emphasising
its desire to move forwards.
Future TGV station
A new station to meet the increase in
traffic. Oriented towards the city centre
and connected to public transport, the
future train station, with its surface area
of over 60,000 sq.m, will be able to host
20 million passengers per year.
The objective is to develop access to
major European hubs.
This new international airport platform for
Western France will have a reception
capacity of 9 million passengers per year
and will be connected by fast shuttle to the
centre of the Nantes urban area.

Several choices such as design
concept,
egronomics
and
standardization have been made, the
strongest being virtual reality which
is the first foundation laid for the
Usine du Future. It is fitted with an
immersive auditorium and 3D
collaboration screens. It shall also
host industrial training sessions,
project reviews and top quality
business presentations.
The aim of this platform is to test and
assess the integration of leading-age
technologies into different assembly
prossesses of great ship structures, windpowered or aeronautic structures , and
also to anticipate problems during rampup phase. The key issues are the use of
augmented reality, collaborative robotics,
and
leading-edge
technologies
of
measurement, control and wireless
communication.
